    A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving

Did they have to give Franklin the monster chair? Is Snoopy feeding turkey to Woodstock like that scene where Hannibal Lector feeds that guy’s brain to himself? Do Van Pelts not celebrate Thanksgiving as a family?
This special is worth it just for Patty cutting off Linus’ attempted history lesson with “this isn’t like that at all!”

As far as cinematic murderer’s go, he’s less appealing than Leon, more appealing than Chucky, neck and neck with Zach Snyder’s Superman.

I’ve been thinking about lady werewolves recently. Women giving into their animal instincts and fighting the capitalist system rather than feeding off of it like a common vampire. There’s not enough stories like that out there but this is one. Susan Sarandon is great as always but Geena Davis seems especially liberated in this movie, fleeing society and a husband who looks like a Danny McBride character to howl at the moon in the desert.

So AI is a mess, but it’s cool to see Spielberg out of his comfort zone. Fabelmans is the same thing, but good. Most movies these days show a traumatic event and then dwell on its consequences, but this movie focuses on his parents doomed marriage way longer than you’d expect. I can see why it didn’t do well at the box office, the marketing doesn’t really convey anything other than “movies and trauma”, but if you like Spielberg movies and want to know what makes them tick, it’s all here.
