Palm Springs 2020
A lovely metaphor for marriage couched in some clever science fiction storytelling and a fun romance too boot. It's well cast and Samberg and Milioti have a beautiful chemistry that really pulls everything together. I really like how the "Groundhog Day" time-loop formula is smartly thrown out in favour of something altogether more meaningful. It's a decision that saves the film from becoming a by the numbers story about fixing past mistakes before moving on and instead makes it a story about acceptance and self-realizations.
