A nice portrait of the musicians in the band. It was awesome seeing the smiles on their faces playing at Carnegie. The doc is pretty hollow otherwise. There's so much more to the story than "isn't it cool we took these poor Cuban musicians to New York?" and the doc doesn't get into any of it. Repetitive low quality digital shots. More of an extended music video or a concert film than a doc. Not sure why this one is so beloved.

A classic for a reason. Incredibly precient as many of the best movies are. Caul separates himself from the rest of humanity because of his relationship/obsession with the frontier of new tech. I seriously…

On a creature feature kick lately, had to give this a go. Pure schlock, but somewhat fun. Some interesting practical effects but because of the puppetry you don't really see the snake attacking. Lots of cutting away. Felt like I was watching a porn parody of anaconda or something. Funny watching Mr Miyagi face off with the beast.

Some serious nitpicking here but as an animal nerd I am contractually obligated to point out all the issues with these animals attack movies. King cobras do not come from Africa and a mad herpetologist should know that! Let's get some fact checkers on set!
