Still not sure where my rating is going to land. Objectively it did have some good aspects, I enjoyed the cinematography, music and the acting wasn’t bad (Timothee steals the show). Maybe I’m disappointed because I went in with the wrong expectations, I was expecting a queer romance but the whole time I was kind of creeped out by Oliver. Don’t get me started on how the female charters may as well not even be there/are only there to be…

2.75, this film has a lot of interesting ideas but I don’t think it executed any of them particularly well. I kept thinking how this film reminds me of Okja then realised it’s by the same director so that makes sense. Robert Pattinson is great throughout though.

This is tricky to rate because I can see the amount of effort that went into making this and I thought the set design, costumes and choreography was great. However everything else just fell a bit flat for me, it definitely could have been shorter.

Also if any of you rat me out to Eddie you’re getting a fact find, do you really want me to be homeless before Christmas.

I watched this over a week ago and I can’t stop thinking about how you would hypothetically get sharks and salt water into the colloseum. Wouldn’t it have been easier to ship crocodiles in? Was that an extinct sub species of baboon or is this straight up sci fi? These are the questions that keep me up at night.

Also Paul Mescal has the perfect Roman nose. Pedro, Denzel and Connie were also great. Kind of wish they didn’t need to kill off Paul’s bad ass wife just so he could have his hero arc, bit repetitive after the first film.

    Hail Dondus.
