stunning, eerie, off putting, a 90-minute fugue state (i wish I brought a notebook). i see this as a portrait of death, in many ways, or maybe a commentary on the inherent death in the capture that is film. it is without narrative, without consistent color scheme, hardly has any dialogue–I recall what I interpreted as a series of voicemails–and the sound is overwhelming and violent on the ears. we see suspended from the ceiling: knives, clocks, a loaf of…
watching this reminded me that I regret not stealing this black feather shrug/cape thing from a white woman whose apartment in Chinatown I once subletted (her and her boyfriend kept my security deposit on the grounds that it was dusty)(they did not move back in until at least three weeks after I had left) like,,, I literally have a matching skirt.
pretty cinematography and I liked the characters but lazy editing and dialogue unless the translation was lacking though idrk how that would make a difference
that scene with the doctor wasn’t really necessary
