    Genuinly breathtaking.
I haven't cried at a film since I was a young child, now as a 21 year old man, I cracked.

First off, the cast is stellar. Murphy gives the performance of his career, along with RDJ I'd argue. The way in which Murphy can almost switch off his eyes into this deep abyss is mesmerizing.
Emily Blunt is a powerhouse, as was Jason Clarke, and seeing Josh Hartnett was great too.

Same old beast like monster haunts people in their weirdly huge and creepy home after a bereavement and the it gets hurt by fire. Like all other monster in house type horror films.
Predictable and boring, not worth it.

Really great film. That character development I was yearning for in the first film is front and centre here. I like the balance of action and stillness.
The characters have time to breath and be people and we learn so much about them and their lives, but there's the overwhelming (in a good way) and Bold action sequences that just feel so powerful, to contrast that.
Gwen Stacey is easily #1 in this film, her story and vocal performance from…
