Adolescence 2025
This unintentionally provides a really good take on the monster baby movie, which I like but I find the main issue with it is that women are still quiet. Each woman or girl in the story (with the exception of Jade) has a man who she helps or hinders. She is afforded little time alone without that man. Katie herself never gets to say anything.
While this is a very good story about complicated adolescents and male violence, it is also a story almost exclusively about men.

I am so deeply disinterested in the character of skye Riley. it is not even dislike - it is a deep apathy. that makes this movie profoundly disinteresting as well. I do not enjoy the 'ooh is any of this even REAL' element because it is not well done. the cgi is bad. the smiles don't even look good. if the original movie had any thematic elements at all, they are gone here.
