This film did an excellent job of portraying the male gaze. The younger boys across the street from the Lisbon sisters perceived them as dolls, like toys in their lives that they could imagine any scenario with and focused more on their fantasies with the girls than actually saving or caring for them. The other boys/men in the film also treated the girls as accessories rather than people. Their own father never truly stood up for them, Trip left Lux…

Brokeback Mountain 2005
This movie was beautifully written. The tortured love story of Jack and Ennis was heartbreaking to watch. The struggle of each character created a layered and meaningful back story. Both characters had flaws and that made them more human and their characters much more real. I dont cry at movies, but the last scenes would bring almost anyone to tears.
