I’m so glad they told us exactly what was going on at the end of the movie with that big narrative dump. My pea brain would have never figured it out on its own! I need to be spoon fed 👶🏻
In all serious, aside from the disappointing ending, I wasn’t scared or even nervous for one second of this film so what even was this. The preview scared me more.

I left the theatre feeling very entertained. I loved the plot aspect of experiencing child like wonder through curiosity, discovery, and experimentation, and how it works to question the absurdity and contradictory nature of human social dynamics. I particularly enjoy how this is conveyed in the Lisbon and Ship scenes. Very unfulfilling. It felt like the first half of the movie was the ending to another movie. The second half felt like a pretentious torture porn. The magic hammer that moves the story along is such a weak plot device. Characters making dumb critical decisions. Whatever statement the ending is trying to make isn't earned through good storytelling. This thing blows.
