I felt certain scenes were smarter than previous movies where they don’t overexplain the plot and allow your suspicions to build over the course of the movie
I wish the exposition was teased more.
The whole movie, were meant to sit here and believe that SHE conjured this spirit of her own desire. She blames herself so deeply, she kills herself.
I believe her husband conjured Nosferatu. I believe Nosferatu represents male indifference. Framed as a decision come from her own will, male characters impart their will on her throughout the duration.
Maybe he represents male resentment for their female partners. A growing list of complaints and excuses lined up to take any agency she has. Her husband teems with aggression when even postured about his wife’s personhood. Her agency to change her opinion is raped out of her.
An interesting watch but I wouldn’t watch it again and I wouldn’t think a sequel should follow.
