On the surface, “Barbie” is a colorful, zany movie filled with lively humor and doesn’t shy away from awareness of the “Real World”. But the movie explores topics that young girls and women have felt deeply: feeling as if they’re not good enough to their other female and male counterparts, body insecurities, and believing they can never break the glass ceiling. “Barbie” goes through an emotional journey of discovering oneself without the restraints placed on us by society.
