Being John Malkovich 1999
This is a phenomenal movie. The desire to be someone else, losing control of yourself, and a road to lesbianism. This movie has all of these and so much more. It is however not light in nature, but packed with symbolism and metaphors that a viewer could easily miss. Maxine, in my opinion the main driving force behind the movie itself (also she’s so pretty tf, I mean damnnnn)Overall the movie is one that I will surely return to. Absolute genius.

Absolutely amazing movie, it is a complex yet easy to understand metaphor, I don’t think I have ever seen a movie so abstract and yet so clear and understandable. It depicts a very overly idealised topic of art and the process of its creation focusing on the artists muse. Very underrated work by Cronenberg.
