Requiem for a Dream 2000
I shouldn’t have watched this movie the night before my meet because I’m not sleeping tonight. However, the cinematography is absolutely amazing, especially the over the shoulder shots which kind of remind me of Hitchcock. The soundtrack is also perfect for the subject matter, and it’s narration by season (winter, spring, etc.) just emphasizes the cyclical nature of addiction and human degradation. Another element that reminds me of Hitchcock is the ending— nothing is resolved, and everything continue to happen…
