Vera Cruz 1954
Very solid Western flick from Aldrich here. The setting is extremely interesting, with European nobles and Mexican Peasants fighting to secure Mexico, while American Mercenaries are caught in the middle, trying to exploit both sides. The plot moves at a mile a minute, and has some great twists and turns to where you have no idea where the film is going. However, Vera Cruz would definitely benefit from a longer run time, as there are just too many characters and twists that the movie has to juggle. This was a very fun movie and I especially loved the Burt Lancaster performance.
