While I can see how scenes of women freely experimenting and learning about sexual intimacy and its many facets can be the reason this film is touted as feminist and de-mystifying sex, the premise is completely squandered by non-stop cheap, crass jokes that come straight from middle school boys’ locker rooms. Every piece of dialogue made me cringe because what a fucking setback. This could have been so empowering, instead it was an absolute shitfest.
Having a female director doesn’t make a movie any less catered to the male gaze.
