- As a matter of fact, I am somewhat familiar with the whole thing already, but thanks for the welcome anyway, and welcome, too, to our little project ;-) --Markus Krötzsch (talk) 13:01, 3 August 2013 (UTC)
OWL, Wikidata, and everything
editHi Markus, I just replied to your comment in the class-instance RFC. I figured I'd note it here since you made your comment over two weeks ago. Thanks, Emw (talk) 22:33, 5 October 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the pointer; I added my replies there. --Markus Krötzsch (talk) 17:29, 8 October 2013 (UTC)
another instance/subclass question
editThanks for your useful comments so far, I was wondering if you could comment on the following case that pops up from WD:PC#spilt birth date(P:P569), death date (P:P570) and coordinates (P:P625)?:
- homo sapiens is an instance of taxon
- people are instances of organism because they are instances of homo sapiens
- homo sapiens is a subclass of taxon
That should mean that Q5 is an instance of taxon (when considered as a set of people) when considered as a conduit between Barack Obama and "organism", right ? You said before that is was all right to use the same item for classes and individuals, but does that make sense in this case ? Is there a risk to confuse reasoning tools ? --Zolo (talk) 08:06, 22 October 2013 (UTC)
ORCID
editI see you have an ORCID iD; please add it to your user page (here and on en:Wikipedia) using {{Authority control}}

Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey

You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[survey 2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.

SQID suggestions for relative (P1038)
editHello Markus Krötzsch,
I noticed the tool suggests the addition of grandparents with P1038, based on statements for parents. I don't think this type of statement is welcome. Was there some recent discussion about changing it? If not, could you remove these suggestions? If the suggestion is merely displayed, this would be fine. Obviously, if there is a reference and no trace of the parents, the suggestions would be excellent. --- Jura 10:48, 28 November 2018 (UTC)
Makrobot
editHello Markus Krötzsch, The last edits by your bot Makrobot date from January 18th 2016. I would propose to remove its bot flag. Do you oppose to that? --Lymantria (talk) 20:41, 7 October 2023 (UTC)
- Hi Lymantria, Thanks for the warning. I do not currently intend to run the bot, so removing the bot-flag will be fine. --Markus Krötzsch (talk) 13:26, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. --Lymantria (talk) 16:29, 9 October 2023 (UTC)
wdumps poke?
editHi Markus - I saw you listed as a maintainer on the wdumps tool on toolforge. Could you give it a poke? It seems to have worked up to a few days ago, then stopped? At least going by the list of recent dumps here - https://wdumps.toolforge.org/dumps?first=3991 Thanks. ArthurPSmith (talk) 23:19, 13 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hm, we need to look into this. The main developer is no longer active, so my "maintenance" is more formal than actual. AFAIK, an update to the underlying Wikidata Toolkit is needed, but I cannot promise yet when we can do this (btw, I am rarely reading comments here; please send me an email in case you wish to reply). --Markus Krötzsch (talk) 15:45, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
