A large Mediterranean island nation is in a state of crisis. The national government has effectively collapsed under the pressure of calls for reforms and repeated economic struggles. As the rule of law and defense capabilities evaporate, several neighboring Southern European and West Asian nations begin making military incursions bolstered by numerous proxy forces. The various sides are near-peer to each other, but behind modern NATO standards. Outdated jets and armored vehicles, mixed with modern armed variants of civilian helicopters, some night vision is infrequently encountered, even less so amongst the proxies. The United States and most first world nations have not openly supported a side as of yet.
You work for a PMC that primarily provides personal security and K&R insurance for international companies and NGOs and offers additional services for "Crisis Management and Asset Extraction". This will be focused on that service, and the firm's internal SMU that is effectively a private sector GRS.
The whole unit has been mobilized and tasked to extract non-essential personnel and provide continued security for essential personnel. While the militaries are primarily focused on each other, the proxy forces and opportunistic local criminal elements are running loose. Reports are heard of officials from the failed government, as well as foreigners, being taken hostage. Any clients in such a position will need in-extremis rescue and transport to the nearest airport or port. If they can not be evacuated, temporary safe houses will need to be established until evacuation is possible.
Your ROE from the firm's stateside headquarters is to "defend yourselves and the clients only if absolutely necessary". However, the ROE from the senior management in-country is "if the shooting starts, finish it".
Company vehicles are unarmored or discreetly armored civilian models previously selected by the response unit and predeployed to the region. As a team leader in that unit, you need to pick your personal weapons and deployment gear, preferred vehicles, as well a set of team equipment you might want in addition to what other team members have personally selected.
What's in your toolbox? Be as detailed as you want. It can be just the basics or all the way to the boots and bullet grain weight. The firm has state department clearance for ITAR items and heavy weaponry, and the clients have deep pockets.
