"Offered is a pair of paintings by the artist known as \"Fwande\", each measuring some 17 x 11.75 inches. Fwande was the name taken by a Congolese artist named Kato. He is noted in a number of academic texts as a leading member of the Authenticité school of Congolese art. He later moved to Malawi where Nixon Malamulo notes him as one of his teachers and inspiration. As with many African artists, little else is known about his life.
