Thanks, just read and enjoyed your post on the same subject. I write most every day, but deciding whether something is a personal journal entry, blog post or a full-blown essay that deserves more time can be a challenge sometimes.
appreciate the shout as always, grinds. check the legg and brain link, think you used relative instead of absolute
It's my bi-weekly newsletter that became a bi-monthly newsletter: https://mikegrindle.com/newsletter/itm-7
Here's a 4k+ word essay I wrote after feeling bad about killing a bunny in a video game: https://mikegrindle.com/posts/evil
I tried to do an evil run in my second playthrough of Fallout 3. During the intro, I said mean things to Amata and she got upset. I felt bad. That was the end of my evil run.
Your blurb made me laugh so I had to read it. Really good post, especially near the end.
cheers @hardmachine, glad you enjoyed my ramblings. @skep we can learn much from your brush with the dark side...
FYI, I have been working on a longer essay 'thing' recently, but it's taking a million years to write. I'm also currently in the "I hate this and it's been a big waste of my time" part of my longform writing 'process.' So it felt good to write a little bloggy thing instead.
Love this, I might do this... Although I will have such a rough time with remembering it all! Really impressed by this. It did remind me of my post about "computer memories from 2000-2010" https://frans.today/computer-memories/ which goes into things I was doing on the internet in that timeframe.
Thanks! There’s so much I’m sure I missed with my post, but it was fun trying to find some of the obscure stuff I half-remembered.
New (short) post. Probably the last one for the year: https://mikegrindle.com/posts/2024
new year holidays are the time of the thinking... now, we think: if colored lights are hanging in my room, not me, than this year was not very bad...
I am an unashamed Buffy fan. I own the entire series on DVD. I'm that kind of guy. I thought seasons 5 and 6 were the high point of the show. If that makes me look crass and unsophisticated, I wear that badge with pride!
You’ll get no judgement from me! well, apart from the bit about season 6 being a high point ;-)
Waking up early and just KNOWING it's snowed because of the total silence is one of the best feelings ever!
@ratshack 100%, that and taking that first step out into it. @nohappy sentimental HAMMER feels like the name of a teenage emo band
Its very well deserved Mike :)
