First Nations peoples have a particular understanding of the ways in which the world has come into being, and the ways they have come into being as a people. This particular knowledge is often conveyed in the context of stories, myths and legends. In this paper my focus will be on the distinct difference between how history and story is relayed from an Aboriginal viewpoint in comparison to how it is relayed by a non-Aboriginal viewpoint.

This paper will examine how the government plays a role in how the individual and disability are defined. From personal experience in the disability system, it places an individual into the " sick role " and makes them unfit by mainstream societal standards.

Background on the Policy Briefing Report Process Established by the President of the Royal Society of Canada in April 2020, the RSC Task Force on COVID-19 was mandated to provide evidence-informed perspectives on major societal challenges in response to and recovery from COVID-19. The Task Force established a series of Working Groups to rapidly develop Policy Briefings, with the objective of supporting policy makers with evidence to inform their decisions.
