Stranger Things and Cast Masterlist

I was still slightly dazed, the room soft and blurry around the edges as I lay back against the crisp hospital pillows. The pale blue walls, the distant murmur of nurses outside the door, the steady beep of machines they all seemed distant, as if I were watching from beneath water. My body ached in that exhausted, satisfying way that only came after childbirth, and in my arms, wrapped in the tiniest white blanket with pink trim, was the reason why.

Our daughter. Our second little girl.

Her tiny fingers peeked out near her chin, her breathing soft and rhythmic. She had a little tuft of dark hair, not unlike her father’s. I couldn’t stop staring at her. She was perfect. Every time I blinked, I half-expected to wake up and realise it was all a dream.

A few minutes earlier, Joe had gone to get our eldest from the waiting room she was just three, full of energy and curiosity, and had been itching to come in and meet her baby sister ever since we’d arrived at the hospital. I’d watched him scoop her up with that familiar gentleness, murmuring something that made her giggle as they disappeared out into the corridor. That image had stayed with me, replaying like a warm little film loop in my head.

The door creaked open then, and I instinctively looked up. There he was Joe with our daughter in his arms. Her little face lit up the moment she spotted me, her golden curls bouncing as she wriggled in excitement.

“Mummy!” she squealed, reaching her arms out towards me, but Joe held her gently.

“Easy, sweetheart,” he said, chuckling as he kissed the side of her head. “Mummy’s had a long day.”

F1 Masterlist

From the moment I could remember, Formula 1 had been part of my life. It wasn’t just something I liked, it was embedded in my very existence. My dad was the team principal for McLaren, and my brother, Charlie, was on the same racing circuit in the junior formulae as the likes of Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, and all the other names. I grew up in the paddock, surrounded by cars, engineers, and mechanics who spoke in a language I had learned to understand before I even knew what a normal childhood was supposed to look like.

But there was always one thing that stood out in my mind when I looked back on those days. One person. Lewis Hamilton.

I remember the first time I met him. I couldn’t have been older than 8. I was standing with my dad watching my brother do his thing when I saw him. He was a little older than me, but we were close enough in age that I didn’t really think of him as anything other than just another kid. But as soon as our eyes met, something shifted in me. He was standing there, holding a go-kart helmet in his hands, his eyes warm and kind, but there was something else something I didn’t quite have the words for yet.

“Hi,” he said, a shy grin spreading across his face. He was smaller than I imagined, but there was something magnetic about him.

“Hi,” I replied, my voice coming out in a soft whisper. I don’t know why, but I was instantly shy around him. My dad had introduced me to a million people, but this was different. It was just us two, standing there, a space in between that neither of us seemed brave enough to cross.

Stranger Things and Cast Masterlist

I had made peace with the idea that love wasn’t in the cards for me. My life revolved around my daughter, Maisie a bright-eyed, curly-haired bundle of joy who had changed my world from the moment she arrived. Her father and I had tried to make things work, tried to build something stable but love alone wasn’t always enough. It had been painful, but I had accepted that some things weren’t meant to last.

So, when my friends dragged me out for a rare night of fun, I went with no expectations. It had been ages since I let my hair down, and truthfully, I wasn’t sure I even knew how anymore.

The bar was buzzing with life, laughter spilling over the music. I found myself relaxing, enjoying the way the bass hummed through my veins and the way my friends teased me about finally escaping my mum duties for a night. I was sipping on a cocktail, smiling to myself, when I felt a presence beside me.

“You look like you’re having a good time,” a voice said, warm and teasing.

I turned to find a man with a mop of brown hair, soft eyes, and a smile so effortlessly charming it made my breath hitch.

I blinked, not entirely sure if my mind was playing tricks on me. “I…yeah. It’s been a while since I’ve done this.”

His smile widened. “Then I guess it’s my lucky night to meet you.”

I laughed, shaking my head. “That was smooth.”

“I try,” he admitted with a grin, lifting his drink in a mock toast. “But only when the company is worth the effort.”

The first rays of light were creeping through the curtains, casting soft shadows across the room. I blinked awake, feeling the warmth of Joe’s body pressed against mine. His arm was slung across my waist, and his steady breathing beside me was like the most comforting lullaby.

It took me a moment to remember what day it was, but when I did, a rush of excitement filled my chest. Today was Joe’s birthday. My favourite day of the year.

I shifted slightly, not wanting to wake him, but I couldn’t help it. The anticipation of celebrating him was already bubbling inside me. Carefully, I reached up and gently kissed the side of his face, right near his temple. He mumbled something incoherent, but it didn’t matter because I knew he was still half asleep.

“Happy birthday, love,” I whispered softly into the morning air.

He let out a sleepy sigh and turned his face toward me, eyes still closed. “Mmm, thank you,” he mumbled, a lazy smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

I chuckled softly, leaning down to press another kiss, this time on his lips. The kiss was sweet and soft, lingering for just a moment longer than necessary. When we pulled away, I couldn’t help but grin at him, my heart swelling with love.

“I love you,” I whispered, my voice barely above a breath.
