My Favourite Polin FanFiction: Angst or Hurt/Comfort
Cruel & Unusual: A Tale of Personal Growth: Penelope Featherington is officially over Colin Bridgerton. Deservedly so. She’d worked tirelessly over the last twelve months to move on from him. She’d listened to Lizzo on repeat, read every self-help book under the sun, been to therapy, and even changed the plot of her novel from a coming-of-age romance to a zombie thriller in a world devoid of men. In fact, she was seeing someone, not exclusively, but it was certainly heading in that direction. She’d done everything in her power to move on from her stupid, heart-wrenching, soul-destroying crush. Everything short of having a lobotomy. Which was why it was a tad concerning that she’d just shagged him.
i'll use you as a warning sign: The words on his body sound like Lady Whistledown. His soulmate - the person meant to capture his body and heart, his partner and love of his life - ruins lives. Perhaps it makes sense that she’s already ruined his. — Or, soulmate AU where the words you write show up on your soulmate's skin.
Ruin: “Perhaps you should take a seat,” said Violet. Colin wouldn't remember the details of what his mother told him next. He would remember her hand warm on his knee, her eyes wide with concern, her voice gentle as velvet. All of it in stark contrast to the devastating news she shared. Penelope was ruined.

The Featheringtons have always been betas, unaffected by the fate-altering pheremones that draw alphas and omegas to each other. Penelope shall be no exception. After crossing paths with Colin Bridgerton, she finds that truth harder to bear. A thought occurs to her: what harm could come of delaying the change for a while?
august: Penelope Featherington is house-sitting for Violet, and Colin comes home early from his travels.
Stay: Penelope's not in love with him. She's not. It doesn't seem to matter anyway.
City Lights: Sometimes she wonders what people would say if they knew that Penelope Featherington was Colin Bridgerton's booty call. Felicity would probably spin it into some grand adventure, casting Penelope as the lonely figure stood on some moonlight shore as she waited for her lover to return. Eloise would undoubtedly be violently sick and then call her an idiot... and Penelope, well Penelope could hardly believe it herself. It has to stop though. It has to.
Soft: Penelope and Colin fool around whilst hungover at Aubrey Hall, and turn their relationship upside down
back to who we are: Just because People has resolved herself to a lifetime of spinsterhood in the Featherington household, does not mean she needs no opportunity to occasionally escape. She had not anticipated one such escape coming in the form of a sick Colin Bridgerton, just back from travelling and requesting her assistance at Number Five while the rest of the Bridgertons are at Aubrey Hall. Nor had she anticipated just how difficult it would be to prevent herself from getting swept back up into the orbit of the man she's always loved. If she can ignore her heart while she takes care of him, she’ll be a far stronger woman for it.
