I hope to see them married in any kind of medium. I got much of the design ideas from pinterest.

It drives me crazy how humans are just meant to hold each other. How come when you hold someone's hand, your fingers just perfectly lock with theirs? How is it that when you hug someone, your face fits just right in the crook of their neck? How can your hands cup someone's face like that's their only primary function? It cannot be coincidence that our bodies are fully capable of holding another….We were designed to love (insp.)

In the context of "What is done cannot be undone. I am offering you a path forward" with the "No matter what you've done before, no matter where you are on the path, every step forward is a choice" being both reflected in Harrow's refusal of Viren's soulfang plan and accidentally reaffirming Viren's "The path of fate is already chosen / I had no choice mindset".

Viren in his mind is offering Harrow a way out, a path forward, a way to ignore and escape history / the consequences of their action that Viren has not / will not pay a direct price for. The past doesn't have to rule you if you can escape it. Yet they're both aware that without this intervention, Harrow's fate is inevitable: "Tonight, I may pay the price for our decisions" / "They will find you and they will kill you" "I know this." A way to, quite literally, undo his fate and pick another.

But while Harrow undeniably wants to live, he doesn't want to live like this. Rather than focusing on his individual life, he is thinking about the broader fate/destiny of his kingdom and the world. He knows this sort of alternative would only delay the inevitable. He believes that despite his choices and the legacy of his crown/family that his sons can be different, that they can pick another path, which is exactly what he urges them to do in his letter. To believe that what is done does not have to be what is only done, that they can break the cycle.

And this is a mindset altogether that Viren cannot understand in S1 whether personally with dark magic and Harrow or more broadly with his own political aims. But he learns and aligns with it, eventually, in S5, I think. And that's a really nice full circle.

anyways αὐτόχειρ is such an incredible word. being killed by a kindred hand is lexically indistinguishable from dying by your own. you cannot kill your brother in a way that does not also kill you

i do think id look good as fuck after receiving an obviously lethal blow. like i feel id do a great job looking down at my body to see a gaping hole in it, making eye contact with you, saying “oh” very quietly before i keel over… stuff like that
