Chemical Meadows is an experimental documentary linking water chemistry and photochemistry in the post-industrial wilds of the New Jersey Meadowlands.
Much of this footage was washed in the actual waterways filmed, revealing decades of chemical contamination in speckles of anomalous light and corroded emulsion.

I’ve seen a couple of posts about not deleting your posts in response to this from 2 separate directions.
the first being that the art is already in the models, this deal is just formalising it and getting automattic some cash out of the deal (this is still shitty). the images themselves were scraped ages ago and deleting them now does nothing to help that, sadly.
the second being that you would be ceding ground to the AI scammers by taking real, humanity filled pieces of art from public view and leaving nothing but AI garbage to fill the gaps.
and both are valid, but with both rattling around in my head it hit me.
please don’t let the only chance your human creativity has to be seen and experienced, be after it’s been through the bullshit grinder that costs three lakes and a forest to run.
the AI shit will run its course, doing incredible damage while it does, but there needs to be something there after it’s gone.
also, yeah, if you can, poison the shit out of their datasets with glaze and nightshade. if i still ever posted art I’d be doing the same.
I really dislike watermarks and I’d rather relinquish ownership and be data-scraped than force people to see some standardized name graphic on everything I do, but it does look like Tumblr has added an opt-out option for whatever AI partnerships they have going. It’s under “Blog Settings” so you need to do it for each tumblr, not for your overall user account. I’m not sure how much of a guarantee this is, and everything on the web has probably been absorbed into various models many times over by now, but it’s there now, anyway.
