BTW, shitposts are 10000% possible and welcome on Dreamwidth. You don't have to make a lengthy post just to post something; sometimes you can just post, "My toast looked like a frog today," and that's fine. That can be your every update, even!
Just because you can make long, detailed, deeply meaningful posts on Dreamwidth, doesn't mean you have to.
One of the things we would do on LiveJournal back in the day, and I can totally see making a comeback on Dreamwidth (and/or people still do it there), are called "Gratuitous Icon Posts", or GIP for short. It was literally just making a super short post to show off a new userpic you'd added to your collection. Frequently had absolute minimum text. It was fun!
