While I am lucky enough to have fig trees at my parents home, you can likely find fresh ones in September in local farmers markets or stores. Baked Figs Stuffed with Goat Cheese, Walnuts, and Honey

Ingredients:

8 fresh figs
4 oz (115g) goat cheese
1/4 cup (30g) walnuts, chopped
2 tablespoons honey
A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions:

Preheat Oven:

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Prepare the Figs:

Cut a cross down the top of each fig, cutting almost to the bottom but not all the way through. Gently open them up like a flower.

Stuff with Goat Cheese:

Stuff each fig with a small amount of goat cheese in the center.
