a gentle light broke through the window and shone onto soobin’s paint stained face. his gorgeous features popping with streaks of yellows and reds. it brought his radiant energy to life all the more, the both of you laughing as you looked at each other. you were sure you weren’t any better off than he was, considering your own paint splattered clothes, but something about seeing him flustered made your heart pang. almost as if cupid himself had struck you with an arrow. your laughter ceased, as you cupped soobin’s jaw with your palm, thumb running over his cheek. he smiled softly as you held him, his gaze as warm as a summer's day. impulsivity had won before your nerves could talk you out of it, you crashed your lips onto his. any doubt you’d held in your heart about your feelings for soobin was quelled by the soft tug of his lips. his paint-smudged hands gently grasped the back of your neck, holding you to him tenderly while deepening the kiss. you pulled away, resting your forehead against his own. chests heaving from the lack of oxygen, you smiled. soobin looked ethereal, he always did, even in his paint covered state. his gaze was loving and gentle, and it entranced you all the more. his hands still on either side of your neck pulled you toward him, engulfing you in a hug which you happily returned. his arms were just as inviting as his lips, you felt as if you were home, love and warmth surrounding you. “i’ve waited forever to do that” you whispered into his shoulder, hands clutching onto his paint streaked clothing as you felt him chuckle. “me too, me too.”

Sirens.

Growing up, Heesung couldn't hear enough about them. Enticed by their mysterious tales of beauty and fatality, they were the only thing he asked his mother about when he was a child. He carried this curiosity with him through his teen years as well, going as far as to question his teachers and read the books his town library had to offer, however limited that knowledge might've been. Heesung spent most of his spare time learning what he could about mythical creatures of every kind, though none caught his attention the way sirens did. Perhaps it was because his quaint, lakeside town was known for its aquatic myths, or perhaps it was just because he was curious by nature, regardless of cause, Heeseung often found himself being drawn toward the murky water and its mysteries.
