Oceanglide
From Transformers Wiki
- Oceanglide is a Mini-Con from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
Oceanglide leads the Sea Mini-Con Team, being their smartest member. Not only is he an expert commander and fighter, but he also has a highly artistic side, most often displayed in bouts of poetry and verse. The seascape inspires him greatly...sometimes to the point of incomprehensibility.
This is seemingly in contrast with Oceanglide's personality in battle, where he is a ruthless and highly effective opponent. He has the ability to gather energy—both solar and weapon-based—in his solar panels either to power his body or to redirect as a heat beam. Some wonder why someone like Oceanglide tends to ally himself with the Decepticons, but he believes that he has a better chance of controlling his own destiny as a member of that side.

Oceanglide and the Sea Mini-Con Team were captured at an unknown point by the Decepticons on Earth. They briefly accompanied Tidal Wave into battle with the Autobots as part of Thrust's plot to lure the heroes into using the Requiem Blaster. After the Decepticons determined the Blaster wasn't present, however, Tidal Wave and the Sea Team quickly pulled out from the battlefield. Sacrifice
On the moon, Oceanglide and the other Mini-Cons were put to work by Megatron constructing a new space cruiser. When the Autobots lay siege to the Decepticon base, Perceptor sought out the Mini-Cons and tried to get them to accompany him to freedom. Their servility programming was too strong to overcome at first. After Oceanglide and the others saw Perceptor valiantly risking his life against Megatron, however, the Mini-Cons shrugged off the chains of their oppression, and fled to the warp gate chamber where the Autobots transported them to safety on Earth. Rescue
Oceanglide and the Mini-Cons all chose to willingly follow the Autobots into space aboard the Axalon, fighting alongside them against the Decepticons. Depart
Toys
Armada
- Sea Mini-Con Team (Mini-Con 3-pack, 2003)
- Takara ID number: MM-15
- Takara release date: August 14, 2003
- Accessories: Missile
- Known designers: Takashi Kunihiro (Takara)
- Released in the fourth wave of Armada Mini-Con three-packs, Oceanglide transforms into a "solar sail" boat with rear turbines. In both modes, he has a pressure-launch missile launcher; in boat mode, the launcher/sail assembly is on a rotating base to enable broadside attacks. (The packaging and stock photography give him the angled-fin missile, as seen right, while the instructions give him the long missile.)
- As a Mini-Con, he has a "Powerlinx" socket on the underside of his vehicle mode that allows him to attach to larger toys with compatible Powerlinx plugs, activating special gimmicks on the larger toys when attached to a "live" plug. Oceanglide also features knees that bend in exactly the right place needed to make him the right height for sitting in the fold-down seats in Tidal Wave's hover carrier portion. His "butt" is also the perfect size for fitting into the designated square channel molded in the seats. Given the Sea Mini-Con Team is marketed as being linked with Tidal Wave in most media, this was likely intended.
- The Takara Legends of the Microns release, part of the line's sixth wave, has a markedly different color scheme from the Hasbro version, a rare thing for Mini-Con three-packs in this line. The maroon is replaced with a much more vibrant red, and the lavender is replaced with yellow.
- He was available only as part of the Sea Mini-Con Team three-pack with his teammates Stormcloud and Waterlog.

Energon
- Adventure Mini-Con Team / Sea Mini-Con Team (Multi-pack, 2004)
- Accessories: Missile
- An unaltered version of the original Sea Team was released as part of an Energon-series "Mini-Con 6-pack" with the Adventure Mini-Con Team.
- This set was one of three 6-packs available at US Toys"R"Us stores, and the only one of the three that was not a "shared exclusive" with Walmart.
Notes
- According to Aaron Archer during his ORSON days, Oceanglide's "solar sail" boat mode is based specifically on the same such boat that appears briefly in Ghost in the Shell 2: Man/Machine Interface.
- Even though the Takara coloration of the Sea Team was never released by Hasbro, character artwork in those colors was used both on Hasbro's web site and on the Energon 6-pack.
