i ain't here on business, i'm only here for fun
  • the more i think about it, the more i actually seriously love the janneke name. not just for the gp part but for the jip en janneke part. i know it's too dutch for an international family and in english it doesn't sound very good but... jip en janneke, they have a cat and a sausage dog!

and she has a temper and she breaks things. her mum tells her that when she's mad she needs to count to 10 so she won't be aggressive. so when they're playing and jip says she can't be a robber because she's a girl, she gets incredibly mad but she bravely counts to 10. and then attacks and bites jip in the leg anyway.

janneke, for the orb, i say!

  • for clarification: it’s from a famous dutch children’s book

    4. thissying said: @jammeke I do believe you would bite a boy’s leg for saying a girl can’t be a robber so it fits 😉

    8. zbbssb said: @thissying In 2018, the books were translated again by a new translator and the new version is closer to the original. But i would say Janeczka is such an old name. I have never meet a girl with this name. Maybe some grandmas? However Jaś is one of the most popular.
    9. thissying said: @zbbssb Ah interesting! Do the names mean something entirely different than before? And do you know why they changed it?
    10. zbbssb said: ooohh I remember these books. Funfact in Poland the title was originally „Julek i Julka” but some years ago they changed their names to „Jaś i Janeczka”.
