ive talked about this before but you will never be to convince me that between leonardo "ghosts are a figment of your imagination" hamato and donatello "and clearly, we all know that it's pizzasaurus, the evil spawn of the loch ness monster and bigfoot" hamato, that LEO is somehow the one that believes in them having innate twin sense. donnie would be running scientific tests over gut feelings to prove that shit with a HUNDRED percent conviction and leo would be so fed up with it

ARGH I keep FORGETTING this aspect of Donnie’s character! Cuz he’s like… The Science Guy, the last type of person you’d expect to believe in such silly conspiracy theories. Except that contradiction is what makes it genuinely absolutely hilarious and I love it so much and also you are RIGHT Donnie would be the one obsessed with twin telepathy 😭 comedy gold

then again maybe it's because donnie is so confident in his smarts that he assumes he is correct about everything always donatello ''i am never wrong about anything ever'' hamato no wait but imagine when the boys start figuring out the whole mind meld thing! cuz if THAT type of telepathic communication is possible then twin telepathy suddenly seems a lot more possible and then donnie gets even more insufferable about everything also you know how leo is like generally really good at reading his brothers anytime leo correctly assumes anything about donnie then don uses it as proof of their supposed telepathic connection rottmnt tmnt

OKAY so while making the Save yourself, I’ll hold them back lyric comic, it put me in a big Danger Days mood in general (the album which the song is from) and I got the idea to draw the rise turtles as the Killjoys! (For anyone who doesn’t know, very simply put they’re characters the MCR band members play in the musical videos for the Danger Days album) (Dunno how many of you guys are interested in the Danger Days lore but just so you know I’m absolutely cooking with this!!)

Speaking of the lyric comic - HOLY SHIT guys I am absolutely overwhelmed by all the excitement and support I’ve gotten in just the last day 😭💕 I’m glad you all like it so much cuz I really put a lot of time and effort into it, it means the world! 💕💕💕💕

BEHOLD MY MAGNUM OPUS! Bro this took more than 2 months, in part because I was really busy IRL during one of those months, but even then this was a pretty large project for me compared to what I’ve done before. BUT NOW I’M FINALLY DONE! 😭 Save yourself, I’ll hold them back is just such a Leo-coded song, especially if you include the whole bad timeline, I just had to make something rottmnt-related with it. I actually envisioned this at first as an animation, but I lack both the skill and motivation to animate so it became a lyric comic instead lol.

Okay so colours, shading and rendering is definitely not a strength of mine, so I have a tendency to avoid doing it lol, but I feel like I’m learning quite a lot from doing this lyric comic :] Either way I’m having fun!
