You guys are really enabling my Stormlight addiction here, be careful
But good question, I actually did think a little bit about that when drawing that Tiz Sep-Stormlight art earlier lol. I feel like there can be multiple right answers for this so feel free to disagree, but based on the description of the different orders’ ideals on Brandon Sanderson’s website, here are my thoughts (btw I’m only going off of the orders’ ideals, not the powers they grant)
Donnie - Okay this is easy. Truthwatchers are all about discovering knowledge about the world, they’re described as the “scholarly” order, they attract scientists and thinkers….. they’re the fucking nerd order of course Donnie belongs here
April - Okay so April was a lot harder for me to place cuz I think she would fit in a lot of orders. I think I might be leaning towards the Elsecallers? They’re all about self-improvement and reaching their full potential, April to me is a very driven and ambitious person and I think she’d vibe with that. At the same time maybe she’d also fit with the Edgedancers, who focused on remembering the ordinary people who are often forgotten by the rest of the world. That’s another thing I feel like April would vibe with, and she’s overall a very supportive person to the people around her which is also something that fits with the Edgedancers. Man I dunno you guys decide
Okay I know you only asked about Donnie and April, but I’m gonna include the other turtles as well lol
Leo - Okay okay hear me out. Lightweaver Leo. Lightweavers are generally great at trickery and manipulation, which Leo is also good at (usually) (when he tries lol). Man, Leo being able to create illusions is just such a fun concept to me. Also Lightweavers are all about finding personal truths, the way they progress as radiants is is by discovering and admitting those personal truths. Leo’s character arc in the show and even more so the movie is in large part about him just becoming more self-aware and honest about his insecurities, which matches the progression of a Lightweaver, like cmon!
Raph - This guy I also feel would fit into several orders, but I’d like to think he would be a Stoneward. They’re very team-oriented and dependable, will put others before themselves, athletic and overall very active, as well as great fighters. If that doesn’t fit Raph and I dunno what does. But two other honorable mentions would be Dustbringers and Windrunners. The Dustbringers powers are very destructive, but their ideals are all about responsibility and the importance of controlling great power. The Windrunners are all about protecting others and are literally described as “big sibling types” on Branderson’s website lmaooo, on top of that they’re also very team-oriented. Both of these orders would fit Raph a lot too honestly, I feel like this is proof that Raph would overall be the best radiant >:]
Mikey - Okay so I wasn’t 100% sure if you asked about the canon characters or the TSAU characters, but for the most part I feel like all of this applies to both canon and the AU so it didn’t matter either way. With Mikey however it kinda does lmao. Canon Mikey….. I think would be an Edgedancer, but TSAU Mikey might honest to god be a Skybreaker?? With how morally superior he sees himself as? His rigid definitions of good and evil, right and wrong? Granted, the Skrybreakers tend to be pretty focused on laws, which Mikey is less concerned with lol he has in fact committed crimes. Or rather he views Draxum and himself as “the law”, I guess? So he doesn’t care that much about Hidden City law. Either way, I feel like you can make the argument that TSAU Mikey would be a Skybreaker, if a flawed one.
Those are my thoughts, but again, I’m open to multiple interpretations. And sorry to all the non-Stormlight fans following me who have no idea what any of this means, you’re just gonna have to trust my judgement on this I guess
