I started crying today at the museum because they had reconstructed the shoes of Otzi the iceman.
Either he or someone he knew who cared about him made these shoes out of grass and bear skin and twine and he was wearing them when he died over five thousand years ago.
And a Czech researcher and his students did reconstructions of these shoes and wore them to the same place where he died to test them out and they were like yep! These shoes are really cozy and comfy and didn’t give us blisters while hiking!
Is that not just the coolest shit ever????

I've definitely got characters who wear makeup. Maggie's the first one who comes to mind, since it's very affirming for her and she spends quite a bit of time on it. She can do a lot of the "heavy lifting" appearance-wise with glamour magic - like blurring away her freckles - but the finishing touches are best managed with cosmetics.
It's super important to her that she looks a way that she's happy with and the dysphoria is bad when she's restricted in what she can do. When she was in her teens, she got a nasty burn on her lower back and got a tattoo to cover it up so she would never have to see it again.

This definitely kinda turned into Mission: Get Jance Drunk (with a side of smooching). Because I couldn't just let Kyra get tipsy, that would've been the easy way out, gotta get my lightweight boy who rarely drinks well-inebriated instead.
We're not gonna talk about how much time I spent figuring out how intoxicated they both get here. Definitely didn't spend an inordinate amount of time calculating their individual BACs. Nope. Doesn't sound like me at all.
