Assad Zaman in interview with Daric L. Cottingham:
AZ: We see Armand sort of um placating the situation and trying to sort of use his presence as this very powerful entity to sort of push Daniel into a corner where he will do as he's told, as in, get this interview done in a very very sort of simple fashion, without asking too many questions. And in the beginning he thinks that just his mere presence will do that, but I think Daniel's way more formidable than he ever imagined, and we'll find out.
DC: Yeah, I can definitely see that Armand would like it to be a little bit more surface level interview, while he is kind of just digging away.
AZ: Yeah, and he, you know, he says it to Louis at the end of episode one: we can have him saying "what happened next" in no time. You know, if I come in, and we do this together, we can we can finish this off very quickly.
Assad talks about that line (that people have overcomplicated on here) 'We can have him saying what happened next in no time.' (AZ: If i come in, and we do this together, we can finish this off very quickly.)
There's a sequence that, I can't remember the lines, exactly, but what happens is... I read from my book and it's very intense. And what's happening is, when I wrote it, I didn't realize what I was writing, and when I read it I realize what it is I'm describing. And it's a really intense moment.
Unlike some of the other iterations of this Anne Rice world, we... I get blended into the storyline as the season goes on, and it gets very complicated. And we end up going back to San Francisco in the 70s, where this whole story began. His story gets all like, kind of, inflated and goes into a whole other direction you didn't see coming, and it's pretty wild, very emotional.
There is the headaches, and the flashbacks. (...) He was traumatized by these guys, there's no other way to explain, I mean, that's trauma. And he forgot about it, it was wiped from his memory, but, I mean... Not to make this all confessional and everything, but I had trauma in my life that I completely forgot about for like, 12 years, and was still affecting the way I was interacting with people. And you don't know, it's like a hidden part of you, it's like having a computer virus that's doing something extra all the time. (...) One of them is that, oh, I lived a whole life, wrecked a couple of marriages, and all kinds of things happened, and it all goes back to this. And that, that's intense and I do think that, rather than suddenly becoming a new person, he just embraces the... let's... okay, I got to get to the bottom of this (...) if it kills me, I have to get to the bottom of this. And as we proceed through the story, more and more little bits and pieces come to him, either by him figuring it out or by talking to Louis, or coming from, from the, the... I'm not supposed to say.

AZ: I would describe it as tender. As very... for Armand, a sort of soothing love. I think Armand is, behind the facade of his power and his sort of, his stoicism is a scared child, and someone looking for support and care, and that's how... I think Louis sees that, and I think that's how their relationship kind of blossoms in Paris. Yeah, he's vulnerable and he allows himself to be vulnerable around Louis. Which the coven, the Theater of Vampires, haven't seen before, as well, which kind of shakes up that dynamic. But, yeah, it's tender.

Hamad and his family are under attack in Rafah right now! Support and share his campaign so they can evacuate Gaza as soon as the border reopens!
Nael Hilles had just finished building his brand new home on October 7th, which took nearly 2 years to complete. He was about to get married, and looked forward to starting a family in his new home. Soon after it was completed, however, Nael’s home was destroyed by IOF bombardment. Nael and his family now have nowhere to live. They lost their careers and their educations to the occupation’s campaign of destruction, leaving them with no way to rebuild.
Nael and his family made the difficult decision to leave Gaza in search of safety and stability. His family is large, comprising 8 people: himself, his fiancée, his parents, and his siblings. As the cost of evacuation is $5000/person, the amount of money they need in order to leave Gaza for Egypt is substantial. They have made some progress, but are still very far behind their goal.

Alaa’s family’s home was destroyed by occupation bombing. After suffering homelessness, hunger, and danger from IOF troops and bombs, Alaa and her son were able to evacuate Gaza to Egypt.
However, Alaa’s ailing mother is still in Gaza. She is homeless after the destruction of her house, malnourished due to the occupation’s famine, sickly due to the destruction of waste treatment infrastructure, and exhausted from a life in displacement. You can find photos and more information about Alaa and her mother’s living conditions on Alaa’s blog @alaaalkhateeb and on her campaign page.
Alaa’s mother has had to flee various shelters on several occasions due to IOF bombing. Each time, she is forced to carry her few intact possessions and what little food and water she can find. When she is not fleeing for her life, she is forced to search for food and water, and if she is fortunate enough to find any at all, she has to haul it back to her shelter on her own.
These living conditions would be exhausting for anyone, but are especially so for an elderly woman who is sick and starving. The burdens she is forced to bear in order to survive are weighing very heavily on her, and her condition is deteriorating rapidly.
Alaa is trying to evacuate her mother from Gaza before it is too late. She only needs to pay the evacuation processing fees for one person, which means her fundraiser goal is relatively small. I am hopeful that we can share Alaa’s campaign and achieve the goal quickly, so that Alaa can evacuate her mother as soon as possible.
