Thinking it is your right to reinterpret Black language is violence that is designed to make it impossible for us to discuss our oppression or come together to dismantle it. As a kid growing up in POST RACIAL cali after affirmative action had been dismantled here, as it was called an antiquated and useless relic of the past bc color was no longer a barrier, woke was the word old panthers and old heads used to keep us on it and make sure we knew what was up even as shit went left. As Black kids we already had to be taught our histories out of schools cus even your ‘liberal havens’ shrink away from the truth of Black history and are not interested in speaking truth to power, but in restoring us all to the same antiblack society that you all maintain. We can trace woke back to our enslaved ancestors and the means through which they escaped and resisted slavery. Ask yourselves why klansmen in suits would have a vested interest in erasing its meaning and then ask yourselves why you insist on aiding them in their antiblack project.
