Bernard Paquet
Bernard Paquet is full professor at Laval University, in Quebec City, Canada, where he teaches art, mostly painting and drawing. His practice focuses on painting and for the last years he has been working with the concept of layers, site-specific painting and the painted image of post human body. He first graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in biology (Laval University, 1977) before receiving his basic artistic training at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris (1984). Later, he completed his MFA in 1988 in Montreal (UQAM) and, finally, a Doctorate in Visual Arts (studio) at Université de Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (1997). His work has been shown in forty solo and group exhibitions (Canada, France, Brazil, Monaco, Tunisia) and belongs to public and private collections (Canada, France, United States, Argentina, Chile and Monaco). He received grants and funding from governments in Quebec, Canada, Brazil and the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation. He realized many publications and conferences about the creative process in Brazil, Canada, France, England, Martinique, Monaco, Switzerland and Tunisia.
