This paper examines the dyeing techniques in Moroccan Amazigh textiles. Amazigh women have developed ancestral and traditional methods for painting carpets and other textiles like veils. Passed down from mothers to daughters, traditional painting requires extensive knowledge of colour mixing, painting, and the correct plants to use. The colours are naturally extracted from henna (brown), indigo (blue), pomegranate peels (orange), weld (yellow), and other sources. The decoration often features geometric patterns inspired by nature and domestic animals; each motif holds a specific meaning known only to the women who interpret them. This study focuses on the use of these techniques in rural regions, particularly in the Anti-Atlas and Middle Atlas Mountains.

The medieval town of Tāmdūlt, near Aqqā (Tata province), played a significant commercial and defensive role in southern Morocco. Founded in the 9th century under the Idrisid dynasty, it thrived thanks to its precious metal mines and strategic position on caravan routes linking the Maghreb to Saharan cities. Research and studies on this town have yet to unveil all its secrets, and several questions remain regarding the location of Tāmdūlt and the history of its settlement. Our historical research and archaeological surveys in 2013 on the presumed site of Tāmdūlt initially allowed us to analyze historical sources to locate the site and establish its chronology. Subsequently, the surveys revealed the presence of several surrounding structures, including fortresses and a mausoleum.

This master's thesis explores the valorization of the Jerada Mining Park Project in Morocco, a mining site that has long been neglected. It proposes the creation of a museum and exhibitions as tools for cultural enhancement and sustainable territorial development.

This thesis explores the history of public rug collections in Morocco, from the time of the French Protectorate (1912–1956) to the creation of the National Foundation of Museums in 2011. It traces how these rugs were collected, preserved, and showcased in Moroccan museums. The study examines the impact of the Protectorate on rug production and analyzes their transition from artisanal market objects to national heritage.
We explore the colonial policies and institutions that influenced the management of Moroccan crafts, and how exhibitions and fairs of the period often served as tools of colonial propaganda. The research also critically assesses the classification of rugs into rural and urban categories.
After independence, the evolution of rug collections, their preservation, and their valorization are studied, with a focus on museum reforms. The creation of the National Museum of Weaving and Carpets in Marrakech is highlighted as a major milestone for the preservation of textile heritage and as a recognition of the contributions of Amazigh women in this traditional art.

Le patrimoine industriel minier revêt une grande importance sur le plan
pédagogique, culturel, social, touristique et économique d'un pays.
Personne ne peut contester la valeur d'un enseignement qui propose de
préserver, pour les générations futures, la mémoire d'un savoir-faire, de
techniques et de modes de vie. L'intérêt touristique et économique
constitue le second atout majeur, il renforce l'intérêt culturel et
pédagogique et le contraire est vrai. De ce fait, la réalisation du Projet
du parc-musée de la mine de Jerada peut être un pôle d'attraction
supplémentaire pour le développement touristique de la ville et de sa
région et celui-ci devient alors vraiment digne d'intérêt. Ce grand projet
unique, en son genre, comprend des musées de mine (de l'énergie et de
la région) et des expositions muséographiques qui expliciteront au
grand public l'histoire minière de Jerada. Les parcs et belvédères,
l'amphithéâtre à ciel ouvert peuvent être aménagés en vue de créer des
espaces de loisir et de divertissement en valorisant des friches
industrielles.Le patrimoine industriel minier revêt une grande

This article analyzes the early history of Tāmdūlt, a medieval town in southern Morocco active between the 9th and 14th centuries, and mentioned by authors such as al-Bakrī and al-Idrīsī. Through a critical study of textual sources and existing archaeological data, it examines its significance in trans-Saharan trade and mining activities. The decline of Tāmdūlt is contextualized within the shifting Saharan trade routes and changing regional political dynamics. Finally, the article explores local collective memory, highlighting the persistence of traces of the town in oral tradition. This study thus contributes to a better understanding of economic networks and territorial transformations in medieval Morocco.

Le présent article explore les impacts et défis liés à la mise en place d'une visite virtuelle au Musée d'Art d'Agadir, dans le cadre plus large de la digitalisation des pratiques muséales. L'objectif principal est d'évaluer l'efficacité de cette initiative comme outil de médiation culturelle, tout en identifiant ses limites et axes d'amélioration. Pour ce faire, une méthodologie mixte a été adoptée, combinant l'analyse quantitative des données collectées via Matomo, et une analyse qualitative des comportements utilisateurs grâce au heatmapping. Le cadre théorique repose sur les concepts clés de médiation culturelle numérique, accessibilité universelle et durabilité patrimoniale. L'hypothèse principale est que les visites virtuelles complètent avantageusement les visites physiques en élargissant l'audience et en offrant une expérience inclusive, bien qu'elles nécessitent une adaptation constante pour répondre aux attentes des utilisateurs. Les résultats montrent que la plateforme a attiré un nombre significatif de visiteurs lors de sa première année, avec une audience majoritairement composée de résidents locaux et d'utilisateurs européens. Les Smartphones sont le principal dispositif utilisé, soulignant l'importance d'une optimisation pour les appareils mobiles. Des défis techniques, notamment liés aux temps de chargement et au manque d'interactivité, nécessitent des ajustements pour améliorer l'expérience globale des utilisateurs. Cette étude démontre que la visite virtuelle est un levier efficace pour promouvoir le patrimoine artistique marocain, mais elle nécessite des ajustements continus pour maximiser son impact et garantir une expérience fluide et accessible à tous.

Cet ouvrage propose une étude historique et archéologique inédite de Tāmdūlt, ville médiévale située dans la région présaharienne de Tata, au sud du Maroc. Fondée par les Idrissides au IXᵉ siècle, cette cité joua un rôle stratégique dans le commerce transsaharien et l’exploitation minière. S’appuyant sur un corpus varié de sources – textes anciens, prospections de terrain, analyses céramiques et étude des structures bâties, dont deux forteresses majeures – l’auteur met en évidence les fonctions commerciales, artisanales, défensives et agricoles de la ville. Malgré la richesse des vestiges, Tāmdūlt demeure peu connue, faute de recherches approfondies. Cette enquête vise à combler cette lacune scientifique, tout en appelant à de nouvelles fouilles pour mieux appréhender l’histoire de la cité, son organisation spatiale et ses réseaux économiques.

L'artisanat des tapis marocains suscite un intérêt particulier de la part des autorités françaises dès le début du protectorat au Maroc (1912-1935). Les particularités et le caractère « indigène » des tapis marocains, qu'ils soient de style amazigh ou arabe, intéressent rapidement le résident général Hubert Lyautey et le chef du Service des arts dits « indigènes », Prosper Ricard. À cette époque, la fabrication des tapis au Maroc est une activité florissante, tant en milieu urbain que rural, avec des centres de production comme Rabat, Salé, Casablanca, Meknès, Fès et Marrakech. La diversité régionale est marquée, notamment entre les tapis du Moyen Atlas, du Haut Atlas et du Haouz de Marrakech.

This work studies the reasons of the preservation of the Flemish nation’s privileges in the Spanish Bourbon army during more than a hundred years after the dismemberment of the Spanish Monarchy in Europe. This paper underlines that the renewal of the Flemish privileges by king Philip V of Spain is a key factor of the regeneration project of the Spanish nobility during the Spanish War of Succession, in order to favour the most faithful families to the Bourbon party. Focusing on the XVIIIth century’s reforms against these privileges, it demonstrates that the enlighted military reformism also tried to tear down the Fillip V’s political heritage.

This paper highlights the circumstances surrounding the creation of the "recluta general" (1769-1793), a system designed to provide recruits for foreign regiments in the Spanish army. It was the result of Charles III's desire to rationalise the recruitment of foreign soldiers, which until then had been controlled by a large number of specialised contractors hired for limited periods. In collaboration with the Regiment of the Walloon Guards, the most powerful foreign regiment in the service of the Monarchy, and the Parma State Office, the Crown financed permanent recruitment offices in Liège, Genoa and Parma. At the cost of a considerable increase in prices, mainly due to fraud, this system was able to supply the peninsula with more than 10,000 men. The French Revolution and the Napoleonic conquests in the Low Countries and Italy gradually disrupted these recruitment networks and led to the suppression of foreign regiments in Spain.

This article examines the various attempts to reform the military household of Philip V leaded between 1701 and 1704. Characterized by the creation of several ephemeral military units, the household reform has been considered by scholars from the restrictive perspective of military history without considering political and financial involvements. Focusing on the career of the Count of Ursel, a Flemish military entrepreneur who raised at his expense the company of musketeers, this article emphasizes that each unit created during these years corresponded to a specific form of funding. The proliferation of military units was actually the consequence of the conflicts between the Bourbon ministers to determine the best way to reform the institutions of the Spanish monarchy. This short period thus appears as a time of political and financial experimentation that produced institutional forms that ultimately did not succeed.

¿Cuáles fueron las consecuencias de la pérdida de los Países Bajos en 1713 para las comunidades flamencas que se encontraban en España? Este artículo intenta responder a esta pregunta analizando tres comunidades que se reivindicaban de un origen flamenco: la comunidad mercantil gaditana, los operarios de las fábricas reales de Cantabria y los oficiales de la guardia real acuartelados en Madrid y Barcelona. Se demuestra que no es posible observar un cambio brutal y uniforme de estatuto inducido por la desintegración imperial. En vez, el impacto producido por este cambio ha dependido del grado de integración local de estas comunidades. En cada uno de los casos estudiados, este cambio incitó a estos grupos a renegociar su estatuto para beneficiarse de condiciones más estables y/o ventajosas.

Quelles furent les conséquences du démembrement des Pays-Bas de la monarchie hispanique en 1713 pour les communautés flamandes qui se trouvaient en Espagne ? Cet article tente de répondre à cette question en analysant trois communautés qui se revendiquent d’une origine flamande : la communauté marchande de Cadix, les ouvriers des fonderies royales de Cantabrie et les officiers de la garde royale casernés à Madrid et Barcelone. Il montre qu’on ne peut envisager un basculement brutal et uniforme de statut induit par la désagrégation impériale, sinon que l’impact produit par ce basculement a dépendu des modalités d’intégration locale de ces communautés. Dans chacun des cas étudiés, ce changement a incité ces groupes à renégocier leur statut afin de bénéficier de conditions plus stables et/ou plus avantageuses.
