Jacques'o Derrida tekste Gyvūnas, kuris, vadinasi, esu (L'animal que donc je suis... more Jacques'o Derrida tekste Gyvūnas, kuris, vadinasi, esu (L'animal que donc je suis) iš-skleistos nuogumo, autobiografijos, žvilgsnio asimetrijos ir buvimo paskui idėjos šiame straipsnyje skaitomos kito mąstytojo veikalo – Marxo šmėklų (Spectres de Marx) – perspektyvoje, pasitelkiant pastarajame veikale interpretuojamą išnirusio laiko metaforą. Gyvūno ir žmogaus ontologinį santykį interpretuojant kaip vėlavimą būti ir to buvimo suvokimo atidėjimą, Derrida diskursas apie gyvūno klausimą parodomas kaip nepakankamas praktiniam veikimui angažuoti (nes tebesiskleidžiantis dualistinėje mąstymo paradigmoje), tačiau sudarantis sąlygas kitokio ontologinio mąstymo galimybei (nes įtvirtinantis radikalų pertrūkį tarp dualistinės sistemos narių).

The article investigates Meillassoux’s notion of the absolute in relationship with the Kantian an... more The article investigates Meillassoux’s notion of the absolute in relationship with the Kantian and Hegelian philosophical systems. The absolute, as independent of subjective consciousness, is showcased as the meeting point of speculation and fiction. By looking into Meillassoux’s notions of speculation and some works of weird fiction, it is argued that the significant role of imagination as well as a deferred temporality is what facilitates the discussion of both speculation and fiction as faculties able to transcend the limitations that are projected by the correlationist mind. Through a reading of Lovecraftian fiction, both the strong and weak points of Meillassoux’s argumentation in After Finitude and Science Fiction and Extro-Science Fiction are identified, proving the latter to be a less successful way of grasping the chaotic real.

This paper addresses the problematic nature of bureaucratic power structures and their effectiven... more This paper addresses the problematic nature of bureaucratic power structures and their effectiveness. The paper argues that delay constitutes the essence of bureaucratic power and has controlling effects on all of the three temporal modes – past, present, and future – that individuals are subjected to. The exteriorized and exteriorizing nature of temporal consciousness in particular is showcased thanks to Bernard Stiegler's conception of the relation between technics and time. By discussing Franz Kafka's fiction as well as the most common bureaucratic encounters, the paper argues that both the formal and the repetitive character of bureaucratic procedures are not only facilitated but even presupposed by the constitution of temporal consciousness, which is prone to temporal delay and to the controlling mechanisms that come along with it.

Straipsnyje įrodinėjama, kad Michelio Foucault mąstymas priklauso prancūzų epistemologijos tradic... more Straipsnyje įrodinėjama, kad Michelio Foucault mąstymas priklauso prancūzų epistemologijos tradicijai, atstovaujamai tokių mąstytojų, kaip Georges’as Canguilhemas ir Gastonas Bachelard’as. Iki šiol mažai tyrinėtojų nagrinėtas laikinis pertrūkio aspektas, kuris geriausiai išvystytas Bachelard’o mąstyme, parodomas kaip Foucault mąstymą kreipianti ašis. Laikinio pertrūkio apraiškos Foucault mąstyme ir ego cogito laipsniavimas Bachelard’o filosofijoje parodomi kaip ta pačia – istoriško nukreiptumo į ateitį – logika besivadovaujanti strategija, skirta įveikti dekartiškąją-kantiškąją ego sampratą.

The paper argues that delay constitutes the essence of bureaucratic power and has controlling eff... more The paper argues that delay constitutes the essence of bureaucratic power and has controlling effects on all of the three temporal modes – past, present, and future – that individuals are subjected to. 1) What it takes for any discourse to function as a criticism? To deal with this question we need to put aside for a moment the particular nature of theatre in relation to reality and treat it as one form of discourse among others.
2) Are there any peculiarities of theatre as a criticism of a dominant discourse if we take it with all the complications caused by the complex relation between theatre and the so-called reality?
3) What do we and can we expect from theatre criticism today?

Dans cette recherche, le désaccord entre Bergson et Bachelard à propos de la continuité de la dur... more Dans cette recherche, le désaccord entre Bergson et Bachelard à propos de la continuité de la durée est interprété comme ayant une perspective épistémologique autant qu’ontologie. Par une contextualisation de Bergson et Bachelard à l’horizon des idées de Descartes, Kant et Husserl, on arrive à démontrer que tous deux méritent d’être considérés comme les penseurs qui développent le concept du temps alternatif celui-ci étant accepté par le transcendantalisme et la phénoménologie. L’analyse des catégories bergsoniennes de la virtualité, de l’intuition et de la durée continue ainsi que que l’interprétation des idées bachelardiennes de la conscience créative et du réel dialectique arrivent à la conclusion que les idées des penseurs sont fondées sur et enjointes par la logique de la répétition et le motive de l’atemporalité.

Knygą galima suprasti kaip sceną, kurioje susitinka skirtingoms stovykloms atstovaujantys filosofai. Greta reikšmingų šiuolaikinių realistų, suformavusių ir įkvėpusių savasias mokyklas – į objektus orientuotai ontologijai atstovaujančio Grahamo Harmano ar Il Nuovo realismo pradininko Maurizio Ferrario – knygoje sutinkame materialistę Catherine Malabou, čiabuvių mąstymą nagrinėjančius Déborah Danowski ir Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, italų filosofus Pietro Montani, Tiziana Andina, Dario Cecchi bei visą būrį lietuvių autorių – Ruslaną Baranovą, Joną Dagį, Dainą Habdankaitę, Igną Šatkauską ir Ritą Šerpytytę. Nors pozicijos neretai skiriasi, jas vienija bendra nuostata – šiandien tikrovės klausimas ir vėl tapo išskirtinai svarbus.
