Michel Godet, the co-author of the book who is an economist and professor at the Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers, wants to communicate this core message with his readers: to be aware of uncertainty, we need a systematic approach that can be found in strategic foresight.
This is the personal reflection of a Master of Strategic Foresight (MSF) graduate from Regent University School of Business and Leadership, who completed his degree in August 2012 and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership. He reviews his experiences during his MA studies and shares his learning memories. By dedicating his words to some of the courses he completed, he reveals what he learned through Regent University’s online Strategic Foresight program. Reading this personal report can be inspiring for anyone seeking a Master of Arts (MA) in Strategic Foresight.
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 2010
Learning phenomena are a growing concern for strategic foresight, especially with respect to the question of integration of reflection and action. Although an agreement seems to emerge between practitioners and theorists about strong ties linking strategic foresight and learning (in particular organizational learning), the true nature of this link remains ambiguous. This article seeks to shed light on this link and to analyze the cognitive dimensions of foresight through a critical survey. The investigation follows the original ambivalence between foresight attitude and activity thus underscoring not only the virtues of foresight in learning phenomena, but also the limits of the usual literature.
Technological Forecasting and Social Change, 2010
The term "foresight" has long been used to describe readiness to deal with long-term issues (especially on the part of governments). This term "Technology Foresight" took off in the 1990s, as European, and then other, countries sought new policy tools to deal with problems in their science, technology and innovation systems. Large-scale exercises drew in numerous stakeholders as sources of knowledge and influence, and the prominence of these exercises led to "foresight" being used much more widely to describe futures activities of many kinds. While few new tools and techniques have been developed in these exercises, they represent an unprecedented diffusion of forecasting, planning and participatory approaches to long-term issues. Futures approaches are, in consequence, far more officially acceptable and legitimate than in the past.

The Futurist, 2011
Developing frameworks for new theories in Futures Studies (FS) has been a field of interest among the futurists. They usually make different efforts in finding new ways to deal with this interest. One of the reasons that made this sound as an increasing tendency is the enthusiasm of empowering contemporary FS so that it may be able to solve societies' today and tomorrow problems. This has been appeared as a growing need and has been reflected in many futurists' works in recent years. This article has discussed the need for improving futures thinking through establishing frameworks for new theories in FS.
