Plan of Investigation The topic, How Technology Influences Crime and Violence, was chosen because I strongly believe that technology, as we know, it plays a major part in the rising crime and violence not only in our country but in the world as a whole. A vast majority of crimes that take place on a daily basis is as a result of technologically induced criminal acts. Technology opens a very virtual portal for scamming, cyber bullying and stalking- thus endangering individuals. On the basis of my curiosity to investigate this topic, I have collected a newspaper article, a YouTube video and ???????? ,all regarding the aforementioned topic of analysis. After completing this SBA I expect to have widened my vocabulary and have increased in analytical skills. As a student I intend to improve in my reading and comprehension skills by researching this school Based Assessment. The information that is collected will be used to construct my reflections and the written report. The article speaks of the way women are violated intimately by their spouses or partners. The article was formal and Standard English terms were used by the author to bring across her points. After reading this article, my ability to use context clues has been sharpened so to speak. Also, because of the use of unfamiliar terminologies I was compelled to Google new words and phrases. This article was a little higher than my level of comprehension as it regards to the way women are treated, however, with explanations I gained clarity. In the end I was able to understand the article and relate the information I had gathered to others around me. The way in which the author vividly spoke of the violent and cruel acts toward these women makes it clear that technology does in fact open a portal for criminal and violent acts.
