AI-generated Abstract

This study investigates the perceptions of STEM students regarding the use of multimedia as a teaching strategy in their education. With a focus on how multimedia can enhance learning experiences compared to traditional methods like textbooks, the research aims to gather insights from students on their preferences for multimedia in presenting ideas and solving problems. The findings are expected to benefit teachers and future researchers by informing teaching methods and educational practices that align with students’ learning preferences.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION Introduction STEM is an educational program developed to prepare primary and secondary students for senior high school and graduate study in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Multimedia technology have been gaining great attention by teachers in order to enhance students’ learning. Educational technologies such as multimedia presentations, like laptops, projectors, electric whiteboard are mostly used. Since multimedia allows teacher to integrate text, graphics, animation and other media into one package to present comprehensive information for their students to achieve great outcomes this study aims to determine their perception or views regarding the usage of multimedia as a teaching strategy. In this study, teachers, students and the future researchers will be benefited, the students will be benefited because they will get much information’s they wanted and they will know what teaching method makes them much acquires information and ideas as well as the teacher that will aware of students' views on their way of teaching by the use technology which sometimes make their ways of teaching improves. The one of the principles of teaching strategies, the more senses that are involved in learning, the more and the better the learning will be but it does not mean that concrete experience is the only effective experience that educators should use in transferring knowledge to the learner. Like what was mentioned above, the experiences in each stages can be mixed and are interrelated thus, a balance must be achieved between concrete and abstract experiences in order to cater the and address all the need of the learner in all the domains of development and in order to help each learner in their holistic development.(Edgar Dale, 1969) Teachers in higher education provides more effective and efficient learning strategy and educational experiences to their students. In colleges and universities, teaching serves as an important role for achieving goals and enhancing students’ knowledge and engaging them in the learning community to prepare for their future. Therefore, teachers always are looking for ways to make every young person be successful and more effective. If this study will not be conducted we will not know the opinions of each and every one of them as to their use in teaching, whether they like this method, or whether this method helps them to improve their academic performances or not, at least somehow this study will find out if many agrees or disagrees with this method and what will be their opinion at the multimedia as a teaching strategy. Significance of the Study Our study aims sto know the perceptions of the STEM students by using the multimedia as a teaching strategy because nowdays multimedia are mostly used on our schools as a visual representations of content , leading to a deeper understanding and solve problems more easily compared to the scenario where teaching is made possible only by textbooks and benefits can be gained when students utilize these advances as they prefer to use multimedia to present their ideas rather than doing traditional projects. For it can be beneficial to provide the students the opportunity to make use of those advances and summarize what they saw that enable them to have a unique and accessible learning process in the field of education.
