Objective: The references are an important component of citation analysis. In this study, it is aimed to determine the reference analysis of Iranian Medical English Journals (IMEJ) based on WOS, Scopus and PubMed journal selection criteria. Methods: This study is a descriptive quantitative analysis which deals with the last issues of 52 numbers of IMEJ which haven't been indexed in WOS, Scopus, and PubMed. The data were collected observing the journals data provider websites and then entered into a checklist tool. MS Excel software was used for data analysis. Results: About 88.5% of journals had their own reference style. In 60.9% of journals, the amount of failure in the reference style was less than 10%. The average of self-citations to authors and journal articles, were 3.6% and 1.2%, respectively. The average percentage of foreign references was 83.6%. The main purpose of the network has been to share information and experiences on academic language use in the Scandinavian countries in educational settings and in research, but of equal importance is to identify common issues and interests within the field and to benefit from joint efforts in language resource development and research. In May 2016, the LU-NAS network organized a large international conference at the University of Copenhagen on academic language use and academic literacies from a multilingual perspective in Nordic educational contexts. The articles presented in this volume show some of the results of the cooperation within the LUNAS network since 2013, but also present research from invited guests and other researchers interested in these topics. As a result of the Scandinavian collaboration, the need for carrying out research on large collections of academic texts has been outlined. All three countries have now compiled large corpora of academic texts, although the corpora differ somewhat in size and balance. For instance, while the Norwegian and the Danish corpora are composed of texts from a wide range of disciplines, the Swedish corpus has a preponderance of texts from the humanities and social science. Apart from corpora, monolingual Norwegian and Swedish academic word lists have been extracted using diverse state-of-the art statistically-based methods in language technology and corpus linguistics. In addition, a monolingual Danish academic word list and a bilingual Norwegian-Swedish academic word list are in the process of being established by researchers from the LUNAS group. The preconditions for studying academic language have varied across the Scandinavian countries, and this has influenced the research carried out in the [2] fjeld, hagen, henriksen, johansson, olsen & prentice OSLa volume 9(3), 2017 project groups. Research in Norway has focused on the development of a corpus and lexical resources. A similar focus has guided the research in Sweden, as well as several ongoing research projects in pedagogical and educational topics relevant to academic language use. In Denmark, no academic corpus was available at the onset of the LUNAS project, and the main research focus in the field of academic language had previously been on education in academic English as a second language. These different perspectives are reflected in this volume of collected papers, which, as a result, consists of three different parts: one with a focus on the pedagogical challenges and educational perspectives, one with a focus on the linguistic perspectives and one more generally related to describing academic language with varying approaches. The selection of papers is based on contributions to the conference at the University of Copenhagen in May 2016. The review processes were conducted by inviting a selection of conference participants to submit a contribution to this volume. Each paper was reviewed by two expert researchers in the field. Papers with minor or moderate revision suggestions were accepted for publication.

Introduction: The number of citations received by articles is a key indicator
of a journal's quality and effectiveness within its field. This, in turn, influences the ability to secure funding for ongoing publication, stablishing a suitable policy for its promotion, and helping researchers selecting an appropriate journal to publish their findings or find information they require. Meanwhile, one way to measure a journal's technological impact is to examine the patent citations attached to its articles. This study aims to evaluate the technological impact of BioImpacts (BI) by examining the patents’ citations to its articles.
Methods: This descriptive study was conducted using the bibliometric method with a technological impact approach. The published BI belonged to the years 2011-2023. Data were extracted using the Lens and Espacenet databases. Descriptive statistics and Excel software were applied for data analysis.
Results: The results revealed that BI had a 10% technological impact. Original research contributed
to most of the cited articles (27). American patents were the most impacted by BI’s articles.
Moreover, human necessities (A) and chemistry and metallurgy (C) were two main technological sections influenced by BI’s articles. The most active and influential country was Iran, and the most active and influential organization was Tabriz University of Medical Sciences.
Conclusion: Based on the present research findings, the technological impact of BI is considerable; so, it is important to present information about this issue on the journal’s website and adopt appropriate policies for further development of BI in this field.

In recent years there has been an increase in the presence of women in management positions. However, many studies have shown that women are treated stereotypically in the workplace. In particular, both the biological and the social sex as it is formed through stereotypes and prejudices, create obstacles, inhibiting the promotion of women to leadership positions. These obstacles are usually invisible and are the so-called Glass Ceiling phenomenon. As a result, women are under-represented in high-ranking positions as they are evaluated by different criteria than men. Nebude se zaměřovat na obsah knihy, ale na okolnosti jejího vzniku a inancování. Dle přesvědčení autora je to nicméně více než potřebné. Ten, koho zajímá obsah recenzované knihy, nechť laskavě nalezne recenzi publikovanou v Sociologickém časopise. Před samotným rozborem je třeba sdělit čtenáři, že recenze bude využívat odkazů na čtyři knihy a tři články (v závěru ještě přidáme odkazy na další literaturu), proto je zde namístě uvést jejich přehled a zkrácené označení (tabulka 1), přičemž knihy, resp. články, řadím od nejnovějších k nejstarším.

We report impact data on faculty (N ¼ 454) working in 30 of Canada's accredited social work programs during 2016. Method: Using the Publish or Perish website, faculty member's h and g indices, and their most frequently cited articles published in the last decade were analyzed both individually and by school. Findings: (a) computed h scores were R a 0.8-11.9, M ¼ 4.4 and g scores were R a 1.3-21.3, M ¼ 7.7; (b) the top-ranked citation impact for programs were the University of Toronto, Dalhousie University, and the University of British Columbia; (c) larger programs had significantly higher citation impact for both h and g scores than smaller programs; (d) 17 (27%) of these authors had 10-year citation counts ranging from 176 to 666; and (e) their topics related to children/youth/adolescents (35%) and health care (35%). Discussion: Based on our work in this area, we offer some constructive recommendations to Canadian social work programs and faculty.

Use of dissertation citation analysis for collection evaluation was investigated. Analysis of 1842 education dissertation citations from three institutions suggests the assumption of doctoral student expertise in their use of the scholarly literature may be overstated. For purposes of developing research collections, dependence on dissertation citation analyses should proceed cautiously.

This study had two purposes: to examine the expertise of doctoral students in their use of the scholarly literature and to investigate the use of citation analysis as a tool for collection development. Analysis of 1,842 coded citations gleaned from 30 education dissertations awarded in 2000 from 3 institutions in the United States revealed that journal articles, at 45%, were cited most frequently, followed by monographs (33.9%) and "other" (18.3%), with magazines and Web sites contributing less than 2% each of the total material types cited. The study examined 858 journal and magazine citations, which were found in 239 unique titles. A relatively small number of journals contained a high percentage of the references found in the dissertations analyzed. Based on a design by D. Kohl and L. Wilson (1986), dissertation citations were also scored for scholarliness, currency, and appropriateness of format, and scores on the three criteria were averaged to arrive at a quality rating. Results of interinstitutional comparisons revealed a significant amount of variation and were considered in conjunction with institutional characteristics and published criteria for quality bibliographies. The data suggest that the assumption of doctoral student expertise in their use of the scholarly literature may be overstated and should be examined in relation to their preparation for professional status. For purposes of developing a library's research collection, a core list of titles, generated on the basis of multiple, rather than single, institutional analysis is indicated. Jsou určena především jako vodítko pro tvorbu bakalářské a diplomové práce studentů Fakulty mechatroniky, informatiky a mezioborových studií. S výjimkou loga fakulty jsou využitelná i pro jiné součásti univerzity. Kromě formálních požadavků na jednotlivé kapitoly závěrečných prací je součástí skript i přehled základních typografických pravidel, shrnutí zásad práce s vkládanými objekty (ilustracemi, tabulkami, grafy, vzorci atp.) a stručný postup pro práci s PDF soubory.

The prevalence of faulty citations impedes the growth of scientific knowledge. Faulty citations include omissions of relevant papers, incorrect references, and quotation errors that misreport findings. We discuss key studies in these areas. We then examine citations to “Estimating nonresponse bias in mail surveys,” one of the most frequently cited papers from the Journal of Marketing Research, to illustrate these issues. This paper is especially useful in testing for quotation errors because it provides specific operational recommendations on adjusting for nonresponse bias; therefore, it allows us to determine whether the citing papers properly used the findings. By any number of measures, those doing survey research fail to cite this paper and, presumably, make inadequate adjustments for nonresponse bias. This review of literature presents the accuracy level of references in journal articles related to domain of medical science and its allied subjects. Peer-reviewed journals, which are being indexed in international citation databases and possess high impact factor, have reference errors. Not only journal articles but also the PubMed database contains bibliographic errors. Due to faulty references, task of indexing and abstracting of authors and articles in citation databases becomes troublesome. The high level of reference accuracy makes the scientific writings more reliable and useful which further moves towards the high quality scholarship.

In this study, we want to identify current possible causes for citing and referencing errors in scholarly literature to compare if something changed from the snapshot provided Sweetland in his 1989 paper. Design/methodology/approach. We analysed reference elements, i.e. bibliographic references, mentions, quotations, and respective in-text reference pointers, from 729 articles published in 147 journals across the 27 subject areas. Findings. The outcomes of our analysis pointed out that bibliographic errors have been perpetuated for decades and that their possible causes have increased, despite the encouraged use of technological facilities, i.e., the reference managers. Originality. As far as we know, our study is the best recent available analysis of errors in referencing and citing practices in the literature since Sweetland (1989).

Podle autora studenti i profesionální historikové často postrádají vhled do různorodých funkcí poznámek v textu i v širším kontextu odborné komunikace a vědecké komunity. Poznámky a odkazy jsou proto často používány nevhodně. Nadbytečné a slabě reflektované užívání poznámek vytváří zdání vědeckosti daného textu, přičemž zakrývá jeho odbornou prázdnotu. Kromě toho zkresluje systém rozdělování akademického uznání. Příspěvek shrnuje hlavní funkce poznámek, zamýšlí se nad některými druhy špatné praxe a argumentuje pro více reflexivní užívání poznámek, jež chápe jako nedílnou součást celkové argumentační struktury odborného textu.

Research sits at the core of scholarship. The integrity of that research allows fields of study to grow and build upon one another to form the foundation for and extension of human knowledge. In the last 10 years, a new phenomenon has occurred as digital scholarship has become more prolific. This phenomenon is called link rot. Link rot occurs when over time, digital resources become inaccessible because their originally cited location has been relocated or become permanently unavailable. This study examined the extent to which link rot has affected scholarly research and how it might affect the future of digital scholarship. Historical archived data were compiled and analyzed using a self-created tool to evaluate the extent to which a publication has been affected by the phenomenon of link rot. Study data were accessed through content analysis of 2,500 published, peer-reviewed scholarly articles, representing a span of 10 years (2013– 2022) of data collection. Five specific academic domains in the scholarly literature were identified for study purposes: (a) arts and humanities; (b) business; (c) health and medicine; (d) science, math, and technologies; and (e) social sciences. The study showed that 36\% of all links were broken, and 37\% of digital object identifiers were broken. The study also showed a significant difference in the percentage of broken links between academic disciplines, as well as the percentage of broken digital object identifier links.

To determine the accuracy of references published in Indian Pediatrics, we reviewed the reference lists appended to the original articles published in Indian Pediatrics during the year 2002 (volume 39) for citation and quotation accuracy. A total of 176 references out of 322 cited in 17 original articles could be retrieved from available resources. Errors of citation were found in 69 (39.27 percent) references while errors of quotation were found in 15 (8.6 percent) references. The most common errors were those in the name of authors and title of the article. Contributors should make serious efforts to check the accuracy of the references cited in their manuscripts.

Abstract: Depositing papers in Open Access repositories will increase the visibility, readership, impact, and citation of the article, due to removing barriers to knowledge sharing. It's highly recommended that documents without DOIs to be deposited in the repository that offer DOIs for documents you have deposited. Stojíme na začátku dalšího ročníku Pedagogické orientace, ročníku, kterým vstupujeme do nového věku, v němž budou bezesporu hrát jednu z klíčových rolí informace a jejich zpracování. Často kolem sebe slyšíme sousloví infor mační společnost, které se snaží tuto skutečnost postihnout. Elektronická podoba informací se stává zcela běžnou součástí veškerého dění. Obrov skou výhodou je zejména možnost rychlého, poloautomatického zpracování, výběru, koncentrace toho podstatného, co vzniklo ve velkém, mnohdy ce losvětovém prostoru. Nezbytnou podmínkou efektivnosti tohoto procesu je vytváření informačních zdrojů, které lze zpracovávat co nejlépe. Jedním z nejbohatších a často nej serióznějších informačních zdrojů je báze dat obsahujících texty knih, vědeckých, časopiseckých a novinových článků. Je tedy přirozené, že se sem obrací řada uživatelů v očekávání, že obdrží výsledky, které budou dále použitelné a na které se bude možné spolehnout. Pedagogická orientace jako odborný časopis je jedním ze zdrojů patřících do takové báze dat. Redakce se tedy snaží, aby publikované informace jak po odborné, tak i po formální stránce splňovaly náročná kritéria informačního věku. Pro další zvyšování informační a odborné úrovně časopisu je nezbytné, aby autoři příspěvků postupovali při přípravě textů co nejpečlivěji a aby respektovali příslušné normy a další pokyny redakce, jejichž přehled přináší tento text.

Publications in foreign or domestic scientific journals are an important part of research output. And so is the citation feedback on these publications, which is done by other scientists in this field of science. One of the tools which can effectively and impartially evaluate the publication and citation level of a scientist is the h-index. The groundwork for its calculation is drawn on the mostprestigious citation and publication database which is Web of Science. What is the quality of the records in this database and what are the other problems than can occur while using it? This paperdescribes all that and much more.

Countries from all over the world celebrate the eighth birthday of Open Access (OA) Initiative. Open Access is a good way of science results dissemination and its more effective use in developing countries. Serbian OA Initiative is established and the Consortium for Coordinated Acquisition (KoBSON) and Centre for Evaluation in Education and Science (CEON/CEES) have a prominent role there. Numerous Serbian academic and cultural institutions accept OA publishing policy. For the first time, Commission for user services of Serbian Library Association organized OA Week events in two academic institutions during October 2009: at the Library of the School of Medicine (University of Belgrade) and at the Central Library (University of Novi Sad). More than 400 scientific journals are published in Serbia, and 357 are referred to in the Serbian Citation Index-national citation index. The visibility of Serbian scientific journals in the citation database Web of Science has risen significantly in the last decade. Results of this analysis show the presence of Serbian journals in Web of Science, JCR, Scopus and Serbian Citation Index (SCIndeks) during four years (2007 to 2010). The paper discusses different bibliometric parameters in Web of Science, JCR and the Scopus portal SCImago (citations, average citations/year, impact factor, Hirsch index) for Serbian journals. Bibliometric indicators that appear in the National Citation Index are also analyzed. The number of Serbian journals with impact factor has increased during the observed period. The impact of Serbian publishers rose remarkably in 2010, and Serbia has two highly ranked journals.

Wireless sex toys are new technologies that enable sexual partners to connect remotely across long distances. Promoted as enhancing intimacy and pleasure as part of a healthy sex life, these devices buttress a 'sex for health' discourse which relies on the collection of intimate data purportedly used to improve current and subsequent teledildonics models. This article draws on two case studies of sex toys developed by leading sex-tech/teledildonic companies Lovense® and Kiiroo® to examine how the relationship between data and sexual subjectivity is being transformed through these emerging technologies. Applying concepts from new materialism, and extending the work of Faustino [(2018). Rebooting an old script by new means: Teledildonics-the technological return to the 'coital imperative'. Sexuality & Culture, 22, 243-257]', we explore how sexual practices, intimacy and pleasure become 'datafied' through these sensory technologies. Inspired by the concept of the 'sexuality-assemblage', we pose teledildonic-enhanced sex as a 'sexuotechnical-assemblage', a term that highlights the uniquely technological dimensions of sex in the age of teledildonics. Approaching these devices as sexuotechnical-assemblages highlights the generative role of data as lubricants of long-distance intimacy, and central actors in the (re)making of sexual subjects, and by extension, 'healthy' sexuality.

Qualitative research conducted with specific focus groups in areas representative of Greece - urban, industrial and agricultural populations, confirms the gender impact factor on digital illiteracy. A large part of the population in Greek society today is displaying technophobia, women in particular, as is the case internationally. Gender-constrained attitudes against science and technology are formulated very early. The compatibility of private life and career is essentially a female problem, a factor that is clearly evident in the latest EU average employment quota for women which is marked by a decrease of 14.3 percent, in contrast to the 5.6 percent increase in the employment quota for men. This article makes a case for sex-positive research and pedagogy that acknowledges and hence reflects on the researcher’s use of a “pornographic mirror,” a critical and consensual engagement with erotic and pornographic (self-)imagery that opens up bodily sensations and analysis in the public sphere. The article will do so by means of examples of research in which scholars were able to successfully test out such corporeal-driven scholarship and use of porn images. In the first example, the author interviewed an older generation of sex educators in San Francisco, who in the 1960s/1970s pioneered the idea that students could perform and analyze their own sexual behaviors by acting in, and reflecting on, sexually explicit movies, an idea which has also been incorporated into contemporary feminist and queer pornography. Do výsled­ného výběru bylo zahrnuto 14 českých a sedm slovenských časopisů. O těchto periodi­kách byly z veřejně dostupných zdrojů shromážděny informace formálního charak­teru. Tyto informace byly rozděleny do čtyř skupin: obecné aspekty, přístupnost, formální náležitosti rukopisů a indexace obsahu. Analýza zjištěných dat poukázala na některé nedostatky časopisů, jako je nízká technická vybavenost, nejednotnost citač­ních norem či slabiny v archivaci online časopisů. Analýza podobnosti časopisů uká­zala výrazný rozdíl mezi časopisy, které jsou indexovány v databázích jako je Scopus či Erih+, potažmo i mezi českými a slovenskými časopisy. In this paper we studied bibliographic reference mistakes. Bibliographic references are an important part of scholarly publishing and are also crucial for visibility and accessibility of studies in the databases. We have searched how much of the bibliography of the works published in the Turkish Librarianship journal appeared in the Web of Science (WoS) citation database. Between 2015 and 2017, a total of 2959 studies, 2707 (91.4%) of which placed in the WoS, appear in the reference lists of 192 studies in Turkish Librarianship. 96 (38%) out of the 252 remaining non-indexed sources in WoS have been created in accordance with the original APA rules. Therefore, the reason why these sources are not indexed is either due to minor errors made by the authors or to the indexing algorithm of WoS.

Sažetak Acta Stomatologica Croatica tiskana je tijekom 2017. godine redovito četiri puta. Volumen 51 sadržavao je uobičajena četiri sveščića u tiskanoj i elektroničkoj verziji. U objavljenom volumenu tiskano je ukupno 35 članaka-17 domaćih autora i 18 stranih. Na temelju mišljenja recenzenata i urednika odbijeno je 63 posto pristiglih radova. Zastupljenost znanstvenih radova bila je 66 posto, a omjer domaćih i stranih autora ujednačen. Svaki članak analiziran je CrossCheckom i ni u jednom nije pronađen plagijarizam. Ključne riječi Acta stomatologica Croatica, Sveučilište u Zagrebu Acta Stomatologica Croatica, u daljnjem tekstu ASCRO, redovito je tiskana četiri puta tijekom 2017. godine. Volumen 51 sadržava uobičajena četiri sveščića u tiskanoj i elektroničkoj verziji. U tom volumenu objavljeno je ukupno 35 članaka-17 domaćih autora i 18 stranih (tablica 1.). Svi članci zaprimljeni su elektronički i dalje proslijeđeni na recenzije peer review. Sudjelovanje inozemnih recenzenata u odnosu na naše prikazana je na slici 1. Prema mišljenju recenzenata i urednika, odbijeno je 63 posto pristiglih radova. Broj čitatelja ASCRO-a Online stalno raste, a na Hrvatskom portalu znanstvenih časopisa HRČAK, između 353 časopisa, ASCRO je i dalje među prvih deset.
