Dublin Contemporary 2011

CHQ (see Figure 1), a large, listed building located on the Custom House Quay, from which it took its initials, and which is now presently let to retail establishments. The building was originally built as a bonded dockside warehouse, called the ‘Tobacco Store’ and later, ‘Stack A’. This warehouse was important to the life of the city and the development of Dublin city eastwards, following the opening of the new Custom’s House in 1791.
