Sara Michelle Fetters MovieFreak.com The filmmakers give birth to a new nightmare, one overflowing in possibilities and, it should be noted, several purposefully unanswered questions. Azrael is a blood-soaked blast. Rated: 3/4 Oct 2, 2024 Full Review Meagan Navarro Bloody Disgusting Weaving’s capable performance and the visceral siege horror ensure this dialogue-free experiment succeeds. Rated: 4/5 Sep 28, 2024 Full Review Monica Castillo RogerEbert.com It’s chase sequence after chase sequence with hints of context here and there, just enough to hold the story together but not enough to fully explain everything. Rated: 1/4 Sep 27, 2024 Full Review Carla Hay Culture Mix Azrael has adequate acting, but the screenplay is too weak, nonsensical, and repetitive in this horror movie about a woman trying to escape from a cult in the woods. The movie's gimmick of having almost no speaking gets tiresome very quickly. Nov 9, 2024 Full Review Sarah Vincent Sarah G Vincent Views to enjoy this film, you need to abandon your preconceptions of the original Biblical fan fiction and just go with writer Simon Barrett and director E.L. Katz’s creation without asking too many questions otherwise you are bound to be frustrated. Nov 4, 2024 Full Review Jennie Kermode Eye for Film We get demonstrations of skill, from the weaving of a bracelet to the use of herbs to treat a wound, and these elements reinforce the idea that this is a real society which has developed organically over time.
