Highly respectful, thoughtful, realistic, and touching movie set in NOLA with Jennifer Lawrence and some known faces, but names I haven't memorized - though after reading the Wikipedia entry, I was reminded that Brian Tyree Henry was actually nominated as best supporting actor for his Oscar-worthy performance. How to restart life after a near death experience in the military, which was actually an attempt to leave the home to which the protagonist was forced to return. Snoballs, Newman and some hole in the wall traditional burger joint were involved for local flavor. Not surprisingly, done by a female director, though not from Louisiana.

It isn’t the action-packed suspense-filled enigma, but it isn’t the tedious slow-paced melodrama either. Causeway somehow manages to fine-tune to the perfect nuances of a digestible, somwhat enjoyable drama.

Overall it's your fairly typical low key indie drama about starting over. However it's aided by solid performances, especially by Lawrence. It's good to see her going back to the kind of blue collar drama that put her on the map.
