At its bare bones, this is a father-daughter adventure story. Rashida Jones and Bill Murray have really good chemistry, and the movie is at its best when they share the screen. With the exception of Marlon Waynes, the rest of the cast is just fluff to fill the story. I love Sofia Coppola’s style. Have always been a fan of her movies. On The Rocks is a story she tells of a perfect couple just going through life. It’s truly relatable and a good story to watch with your partner at night.

Though well cast, On the Rocks only manages to hum along when Bill Murray is on screen thanks to an otherwise unengaging screenplay. He really steals the show and carries much of the story. Unfortunately, he is not the main character. I would only watch this again if there were nothing better to choose from.
