I don't know what some people expect from these type shows but for me, I am anxious to see the next episode and so far it lives up to expectations.

The series starts out quite well, although the first episode is a bit dull. Episodes 2 and 3, however, are in a different league. They were thoroughly enjoyable and left me wanting more. But then it starts to slide again. At the end of episode 6, I was glad there are only 8 episodes.
The writing, direction and acting are all bad, to varying degrees, although Leo Woodall is very, very good. The same cannot be said for Quintessa Swindell, however. Perhaps it's the fault of the dialogue or the direction, but her performance is very flat. Her character is annoying, which doesn't help matters.
Over at the NSA, it's never quite clear who is in charge, and none of the actors is particularly good, even Martha Plimpton, unfortunately. Harry Lloyd is simply dreadful. He seems to have been plucked from a high school play.
The plot, such as it is, is about finding prime numbers, and how this could somehow lead to the downfall of security (and, by extension, humanity, I suppose). But it's all so vague and nebulous. An archaeological site in Iraq seems to have something to do with it, but... meh.
The series does have its moments, but they're few and far between. Characters seem monumentally stupid, incapable of linking actions, events or people. It is beyond frustrating. The arguments that people use have no logic (looking at you, Taylah), and the counterarguments are equally stupid.
It's such a shame. The show had such promise but it all falls apart quite quickly.

A couple of things here. For one, this is a whole lot like around a half dozen other shows I have seen recently. Not bad, not good, just kind of exists. If you get 4 episodes in and they already are stretching episodes to make the full season last 10+ episodes, then something is wrong. In the end, I really just want it to wrap up and go away.

I am loving every single moment of it. And I cannot wait to see the next episode. I sure do hope it gets renewed for a second season. It is well worth it!
