What to Know

Critics Consensus

Tulsa King's stale comedy sometimes feels like ordering spaghetti with marinara and instead getting egg noodles and ketchup, but Sylvester Stallone still commands the screen with his swaggering charm.

Nick Schager The Daily Beast Sheridan’s latest is less grim and brooding than corny and amusing—a shift that suits Stallone. Jan 30, 2023 Full Review Ben Dowell Times (UK) In between moments of somewhat cartoonish violence, Sly’s wisecracking about a world that is unfamiliar in just about every way imaginable allows this to tick along nicely. Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Liz Shannon Miller Consequence The biggest question mark hovering over Tulsa King at this point is how deep and dark it's capable of going, and whether Stallone might be pushed outside his comfort zone into some truly vulnerable territory. Rated: B Nov 18, 2022 Full Review Ezequiel Boetti Otroscines.com Once again Taylor Sheridan reimagines classic genres to deliver a detective story full of humor and self-awareness. Benjamin B Maybe not Person of Interest but very watchable and at times even enjoyable with a few laughs sprinkled in for good measure. Good if not great cast help support Tulsa King. I started watching not knowing what to expect but kinda like the Expendables movies Rocky plays his age and it works. Other action stars have tried to hold on too long but this is not the case and we embrace the age of the actors. Dana Delaney does a wonderful job playing her age and she is still beautiful all these years after Tombstone. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 11/09/24 Full Review Denys S A very well-produced series! It’s hilarious to watch as the main character discovers how much the world has changed and awkwardly tries to fit back into society. The action scenes are fantastic, and the plot twists are truly unexpected. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 11/05/24 Full Review Ditzzee C Who doesn't like Stallone? BUT, the plot is silly, dead bodies everywhere, no one investigating. The daughter he hasn't seen in 20 years suddenly up and moves to Tulsa. The characters are funny, Stallone is hysterical eating apricot jam and THC lollipops but the plot and the dialogue, like Lioness is just awful. Must be written by Americans, nothing subtle, formulaic and loud. Also, to the actors/actresses who botox your faces, without expressions that reflect the tone of a scene, it becomes a bit laughable. Hit up Acorn/Britbox, find better options British, Nordic, French, Israeli series. Fauda, River, The Bureau, Borgen, Trigger, The Tower. Once you watch these shows, you will never settle for American pap again. Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 11/03/24 Full Review Matthew S It's got Sly. It's fun. It's not a masterpiece but it isn't supposed to be. Worth watching? Sure. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/29/24 Full Review Dennis S One of the best new shows I’ve seen in the last 5 years it has a good mix of comedy , weed , mafia drama , hospitality And kick ass please if anyone is reading this we need over 4 seasons of this show at least! Rated 5 out of 5 stars 10/25/24 Full Review Bruno Lucas B Is it the best thing since bread? No. But it is indeed a very nice show. Stallone does a nice job with a differet character from the usual. Yes he is a big buff mafia boss, but at the same time, he's goofy and out of touch after spending so much time in prison, trying to reconect with his family while doing his usual gangstar stuff. A nice show, would recommend. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 10/22/24 Full Review Read all reviews
