    LEARNING ACTIVITIES
    1. Review the national development goals and educational goals of the Educational Act 1982 and 1986 Constitution. Does the present nursing curriculum follow these goals? 2. What does curriculum mean to you as a nurse practitioner? Explain the relevance curriculum to nursing practice. 3. Why it is important that the curriculum should reflect the urgent needs, issues and problems facing the country today? Why do you think revision of our present curriculum is continuously changing? 4. Interview a nurse practitioner. Ask about the nursing curriculum during his/her study days. a. Did the curriculum prepare him/her well for what he/she met in the actual world work? Yes, but some training and field must be updated. Researches must be made to improve the delivery of quality health care. b. Were the learning experiences planned according to the aims of national development goals in the constitution? Yes. c. What are their comments and suggestions? Lesson 2

    LEARNING ACTIVITIES
    1. Why do nurses migrate to other countries instead of rendering their services to our countrymen? What are the implications noted? Explain. 2. What do you mean by substandard nursing education? What are the factors affecting it? Explain. 3. Observe a nurse at work in different areas of assignment and list all the problems noted: a. Hospital b. Community c. College of nursing What do you think are the implication to nursing education? Explain Lesson 3

    1. What factors affect nursing practice today? List their implications and changes curriculum planning for nursing schools of the future.

    2. Based on your observations, experiences, and reading what is wrong in nursing educations today? Given the opportunity to improve the nursing educational systems, what improvement do you suggest? 3. List the megatrend in the 2010s. Discuss how these could affect nursing education. 4. Enumerate and describe some alternative curriculum plans that may crop up in the future.
