CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

This chapter presents the findings obtained for each of the

stipulated problems, the conclusion drawn, and the recommendations

formulated based thereon.

Problem 1

What is the level of acceptance of the wellness massage as an

elective?

Findings

1. The level of acceptance of the students in the wellness

massage elective has a weighted mean of 2.46.

Conclusion

1. The students slightly accepted wellness massage as an

elective during modular distance learning.

Recommendations:

1. Since the students slightly accepted the Wellness Massage as

an elective, the school should offer additional electives

aligned with students' preferences, ensuring high acceptance

of the elective courses among the student body.

Problem 2

What specific competencies or topics were learned by the students

in wellness massage during modular distance learning?

51
Findings

1. The competencies of planning wellness massage program of

client/s has a general average of 2.31.

2. The competencies of providing pre-service to wellness

massage clients has a general average of 2.37.

3. The competencies of applying wellness massage techniques

has a general average of 2.39.

4. The competencies of post advice and post service to client/s

has a general average of 2.33.

Conclusions

1. The students have least mastered all competencies related

to planning a wellness massage program.

2. The students had least learned all of the competencies

related to providing pre-service for the wellness massage

program.

3. Respondents had least learned all the competencies of

applying wellness massage techniques.

4. Students had least learned all of the competencies of post-

advice and post-service to clients.

52
Recommendations

1. The researchers, therefore, recommend that students

engage in more practice of wellness massage to enhance

their knowledge and competencies

2. The researchers suggest that the school select teachers who

are proficient in teaching the Wellness Massage elective,

enabling students to acquire a thorough understanding of

the competencies involved.

3. The researchers therefore recommend that the school should

provide a learning facility for massage students to help them

highly learn all the competencies of wellness massage.

4. The researchers suggest that teachers prioritize teaching and

guiding students during wellness massage sessions to ensure

thorough learning of the competencies by the students.

Problem 3

Is the level of acceptance directly related to the competencies

learned by the students?

Findings

1. LC 1.1 has a Pearson correlation of .428, LC2.3 has .369,

LC3.5.3 has .416, and lastly, LC3.8.5 has a Pearson correlation

of .355 therefore found to be statistically significant.

53
Conclusions

1. A significant correlation was found at the 0.05 level (2-tailed).

In this case, LOA's correlation with LC1.1, LC2.3, LC3.5.3, and

LC3.8.5 is statistically significant, while the correlations with

the remaining variables are not statistically significant (p >

0.05), although they may still exhibit some degree of

relationship.

Recommendations

1. The researchers therefore recommend that the school should

implement elective subjects that would be acceptable for

the students, for them to accept and highly learn the

competencies of the students.

Problem 4

What suggested intervention could be conducted by the school

administrator to improve the selection and implementation of elective

subjects?

Findings

The suggested interventions were: (1) the teacher should

focus on teaching and guiding the students when handling the

Wellness Massage subject which has a frequency of 11 and is

54
ranked as 1st ; (2) increase monitoring of the teaching-learning

process in wellness massage to ensure that learning happens

had a frequency of 9 which is ranked 2 nd; (3) replace the

wellness massage NC II with other electives that do not require

a lot of supplies and equipment had a frequency of 6 which is

ranked 3rd; (4) provide the necessary supplies and equipment

for wellness massage had a frequency of 4 which is ranked 4 th;

(5) continue offering wellness massage NC II but do not allow

over-enrollment if the facility is not enough had a frequency of

2 which means it is ranked 5th.

Conclusions

1. Among the five suggested interventions, the focus on

teaching and guiding students when handling the wellness

massage subject ranks first for teachers.

Recommendations

1. It is recommended that the individual assigned to handle the

subject should be dedicated and willing to teach and guide

the students toward learning.
