Introduction
This handbook aims to provide a framework for sport festivals between the ages of 7 -18 years. This will enable coaches and organizers to work with guidelines to prepare their teams for a one-day event. Above all, everyone involved, from players, coaches, managers and parents should embrace the concept of fun and enjoyment. Remember, there does not always have to be a winner, however it specific levels, results will be recorded. Rules All modified rules have been made to embrace the Small-Sided Game and Teaching Games for Understanding concept. Please refer to the www.jisac.weebly.com for all rules. Recommended Size of Teams To encourage Long Term Sport Development, modified versions of the game have been introduced. The will encourage space, more time, player involvement and touches on the ball, and less decision making. The sizes of the teams within the festival should be relative to the age of the players: Grades 2 - 3 Grades 4 - 5 Grades 6, 7-8 Grades 9+ Pitch Layout All playing area sizes have been adapted to suit the needs of the players age. Please refer to the Fig. 1, 2 and 3 below. Host Expectation
The hosting school is expected to: Provide referees/ umpires in conjunction with the competing schools. Support the recording table throughout the festival. Provide a trophy for the winning team from for both the boys and girls competition. Provide first aid access. Provide refreshments in the form of water coolers for each team. Supply a suitable meal for visiting schools after the festival (all students and coaches must pay on the day or invoice the school accordingly). Organize prize giving to celebrate the competition on the day.
